As someone who's by no means a programmer, I am positively happy at myself for figuring out a means to walk around obstructions between tiles. Probably not a good means, but learn as you go and take victories when and where you can.

If nothing else, seeing the upgrade from capsule to character is a good moral boost.

First time making a rig with the intent to animate... probably ever. Why I elected the path of pain by opting for a cloak and long skirt is anyone's guess, but trial by fire is one way to learn, I guess. Still, happy enough to see where this goes.
