Kept super tidy seams for everything so it doesn’t get as lumpy as my first head! Did mostly loops with a blanket stitch every 5-6 loops just to add some strength. This will be on the 3D printed face though so it doesn’t need to be super strong

Fursuit ear making time!

Blep!

And all the fur is cut! Tracing the patterns and cutting together only took 4.5 hours! Honestly that new OLFA knife was the MVP of that operation!

The real MVP this round of fursuit making is this OLFA knife, it was advertised as 30% sharper than standard blades. They weren’t kidding, it goes through fursuit fur baking like butter. It’s been making this process so fast and so much less messy than trying to carefully maneuver scissors around.

TOOF! Mocked up some quick rabbit teeth to see how it feels x3. Also decided to add in an interior felt lining so the seam around the mouth doesn’t show like on my last fursuit head I made >>;

Slightly wonky BUT, one lesson I learned with magnetic fursuit ears is to have a mechanical connection as well. The fabric was also soaked in E6000 so it’ll be super durable! Won’t have my ears falling off this time!!

Of course we can’t work in silence! Today we’re spinning some retro game tunes with the Darius II and a collection of Bomberman soundtracks on vinyl!

The one question mark I do have to solve today though is how to pattern the neck, I’m thinking of just going with some Saran Wrap pulled tight to get a general shape in place to the neck. Figuring these things out is also part of the fun too! 💫 #fursuitmaking

I think it’s going ok so far! I’m a bit worried both sides aren’t perfectly symmetrical so going for just a full pattern this time! If anyone out there has any words of wisdom or tips for a new maker though, I’m all ears! (Pun intended!) #fursuit #fursuitmaking

It’s duct tape time! Slowly getting the new fursuit head ready for Infurnity at the end of October! #fursuit

Figuring out fursuit hair is tricky. Not sure how I want to fill in these tufts yet.

I went with a magnetic approach again for this fursuit head as it makes travel sooo much easier! Three giant neodymium magnets does the trick! They’re spaced out in a triangular setup for better grip and they hold so nicely! I can turn my head upside down and shake and they stay put!

Using felt to re-enforce the foam connection has also made things way more sturdy for this fursuit head. Absorbing a ton of glue and fusing to the foam has made it much more structural!

Please excuse the messy workspace! Been crafting away at a version two for Speedy! Learned so much from making my first one and it’s coming together so much nicer this time.

Finally picked up a CRT so I can play all my older consoles, especially all my light gun games! But first, Guardian Heroes! 💫

Speedy V2 is coming along nicely! It’s been so much easier doing a second build and taking everything I learned from the first! A better system for interchangeable eyes! Air ventilation to extract humid stinky air out built right in! Just debating if I do the back in EVA or a softer foam. 💫

Making some big chunky swappable eyes so I can change styles down the road!

Working on refreshing my fursuit for Taiwan! One of the big things with my first attempt is that it’s not the most stable, the ears had a tendency to pop off (they were magnetic) and I thought making magnetic swappable styled eyes would be good, but my build wasn’t the most secure!

Slowly migrating some commissions from the other place! I still adore this gif from @louloous.bsky.social It’s just so cute T^T! 💫

Got to go have a blast being in the pride parade with all the furries in Toronto~ it was such a magical and fun day!

And a Game Boy Advance build I did as a birthday gift! The matte shell was way nicer than I was expecting it to be. It’s so fun putting these together and breathing new life into these little guys!

Posting a build from a little while ago, but I’m so happy with how this Game Boy Color turned out! I love that the GBC had wrist strap mounts you can totally use for charms!

I of course totally procrastinated and didn’t get anything ready for Famicase this year. But I did make up for it by visiting METEOR in person.
