I’m not good at posting my event list regularly but here’s the most updated one! I’m so excited to announce that I will be at Entomology 2025 meeting in Portland 🐛 I’ve been at previous ESA meetings as a graduate student, but this is my first time vending there as an artist!

Welcome to the horns & jaws club!

I beleaf - the leaf insect pins are finally completed along with the back card specially designed just for them! And being connected with a spring, they can wiggle on the leaf just like in their natural habitat! Now available in my online store, link in bio 💚🌱🌿

Is it an angry rabbit shrimp? No it’s a phantom midge pupa! It’s the 8th wonder of the world why this little creature hasn’t got insanely popular yet. Oh and they look like something you’ll see in hollow knight or silk song, which is a plus.

It’s Weevil Wednesday! Weevils are probably the most diverse and successful group of any kind of living things, and their adorable snouts are definitely playing a critical part in their success. I’m happy to complete a new illustration & sticker sheet design for them! 💚🌱

We love jumping spiders because they are smol, cute, active, friendly and always looking around curiously with their huge eyes. But do you know they’re also masters of mimicry? Check out the bugs they pretend to be (and some of those are really good)!💚💚

The Great Old Ones - this is something already existed in my mind when illustrating the previous cephalopods piece; and so glad I’ve completed it so now I can display them side by side💙 Never stop missing prehistoric cephalopods! Thinking about making this one a silver foiled print as well!

The Deep Ones - I’ve been always thinking about a deep sea Cephalopod theme and here it is! Tentacles and appendages are so different when it comes to arranging the composition so it took me a good while, and hopefully it ends up well! 🦑🐙They’re just like from another world💙

It’s national #mothweek ! Elegant, mysterious, and incredibly diverse, moths are such fantastic creatures that deserve as much or even more attention as butterflies 🦋 there’s not even a moth emoji yet!

A Venus fly trap polymer clay figurine I’ve made for Bay Area carnivorous plant show showroom’s artwork section last weekend 🌿 it’s a lot of fun making plant themed figurines then adding a smoool bug friend to it!

“Shrimps is bugs” is a funny meme, but there’s some truth in the reverse version, “Bugs is shrimps” 🐛🦐 Since insects are literally a group of terrestrial crustacean. And among all the insects, bristletails are probably the most shrimp-like in my opinion!

Centipedes are highly misunderstood creatures, so I’m really happy to hear multiple requests on drawing those beautiful danger noodles (leggy version)! Their “fangs” are actually a pair of modified legs, and those curly antennae are my favorite parts

Happy World Oceans Day! As a bug person I don’t have a lot of marine themed arts, but for the ones I’ve occasionally done I really enjoyed creating them! Anyone want to see me doing more marine critters?

My new velvet ant polymer clay figurine design! Those little cuties are not true ants but wingless parasitoid wasps that are fluffy, velvety, and packed with hot stingers! Their clay version are totally harmless thought 💚

*Niche critter profile* We all love stag beetles, but do you know there are a few stag beetle genus that are myrmecophilous (evolved to live with ants or termites)? They are tiny but look unique and bizarre in a different way compared to their big and showy relatives!

I make insect art, but sometimes I also wanna make art for insects’ art! So here is an #artvsartist, but the bug version. Insects can be quite OCD some times and make geometrically perfect, aesthetic, and satisfying patterns on mixed mediums! Which one is your favorite artists? 💚

*Niche critter profile* I’ve just learnt about Pagurapseudidae, they are really cute little hermit crab like crustaceans live in gastropod shells 🐚. It’s a result of convergent evolution and they’re actually more closely related to isopods!

I’m so happy that I’ve finally done a firefly&glowworm themed piece! When we talk about bioluminescent insects, we usually first think of those flying & twinkling little fairies. However, many of them are in the form of wingless “worms”, and I found them equally fascinating 💙
