Played about 2 hours last night. It’s so much deeper than part 1. So many more systems. Maybe a tad slower in some regards than 1 combat wise but that loop is once again addicting as fuck. It’s brilliant from art direction to controls. Super intuitive. Everything I hoped for.

So first the files didn’t exist, then it was a hoax planted by Obama, now he knew they existed and was deep cover to take it down. Our country is a fucking joke.

Phenomenal performances especially Wright and A$AP (seriously he’s a powered keg of rage) and there’s some great sequences (like the parade scene) but something just didn’t hit that major high I hoped. Solid remake but can’t compare to Kurosawa. 4/5

A fairly generic cop thriller is elevated by James Foley’s impeccable direction, pacing and action while anchored by an emotional and unhinged Chow Yun Fat. Wahlberg though is so out of his depth and miscast. 3.5/5

As much as I love his films Moore’s interpretation and by happenstance Brosnan did more damage to how the general public views the character. Dalton and Craig are way closer To the spirit of the original novels.
