Down the hatch - This is all of us enjoying our Thanksgiving meals today. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and lots of good food. 🪶

A couple Barred Owl shots from earlier this year that I haven't shared yet. The second one is one of my favorites. Mama Barred Owl was peering through the branches at an Ibis that happened to go down the stream close to the nest tree. 🪶

After watching the Peregrine Falcon fly off I drove up the rode a bit and spotted this Bald Eagle. He was eating a fish on the pole. I waited for him to fly off. Unfortunately he chose to fly right over the telephone wires. I was able to save the photos. PS to the rescue. 🪶

A little green for your timeline. These two Green Anoles caught my eye on recent outings. Green Anoles can change between brown and green depending on what they are surrounded by. 🦎

Chasing these Harrier Hawks is a little addicting. They don't give you a lot of good opportunities for photos as they like to cruise the marsh far away. I had one good pass yesterday at Celery Fields and luckily was able to take advantage of it. More pics incoming. 🪶

This female Northern Harrier Hawk gave me one good flyby this morning and I made the best of it. Will be sharing some of my favorite pictures but put together this video from a series of pics. 🪶

Yesterday I went to Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive with the main target being the Peregrine Falcon. Luckily I found it not too long after sunrise. I watched for a while and eventually it took off and I got some decent flight shots. 🪶

I went out yesterday morning with two targets. Although I did find and photograph both of them, this juvenile Bald Eagle flying overhead ended up giving me my favorite pics of the day. By the plumage, this one is around 1 1/2 years old. I love the different patterns of the juvis.🦅🪶

Left, Right, Criss cross - I was not expecting to see these Roseate Spoonbills the other day as I left the park. They let me get close so I went for the portrait. Love the red eyes and those beaks.🪶

Cumberland Island, Georgia is a barrier island with a lot of history and some interesting wildlife. The first shot is of the Dungeness Ruins which was owned by the Carnegie family.

Whip Spider - Before seeing this spider in Ecuador I didn't even know there was such a thing as a whip spider. They have greatly elongated abdomens, making them resemble a twig. They are rare and little is known about them. 🕷️

Prairie Warbler - Hard to miss this little flash of yellow in the trees this morning. 🪶

Palm Warbler in Goldenrod - Palm Warblers are so common I usually don't pay a whole lot of attention to them. However, finding this one flying among the Goldenrod was too good a setup to pass up. 🪶

Pileated Woodpecker - I have had good sightings the last 2 visits to the Circle B and was able to capture some good shots of the Pileated in flight and on the tree. Even remembered to take video for once. 🪶

OK, well not sure if this is sad or impressive, but I have missed the last 2 amazing aurora displays in Florida. I have then gone out the following night and captures the Northern Lights on nights when not many people saw them this far south. 🤷 11/12 11:12PM off Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.

A few Gators of the Circle B from my last trip. Loved the camouflage of the first guy. The second little guy was hanging out near shore with his mouth open underwater. Not sure why. The third was just snoozing by the weeds.🐊

One of the signs of "winter" coming to Florida is ducks returning from up north. I was happy to see these Ring-necked Ducks fly into the wetlands Saturday morning. They did a couple loops allowing me to get some decent flight shots before deciding where to land. 🪶

Something a little different for me. I rarely do black and white but the first pic just called for it. Such cool shapes and tones at sunrise.
