On Halloween, a day for family and community, Trump, Bovino, and ICE/CBP are abducting our neighbors and assaulting protestors. We will not accept this. I urge you to sign up, get trained, join a rapid response team and be a part of the effort to keep our neighbors safe.

ICE is abducting our residents. So Evanston will now send supervisors to every reported scene, demand IDs and document every abuse. For our community, basic justice, morality and safety is the floor — anything less is not optional.

The fundamental problem here is a problem of power — out-of-town private equity funds and Wall Street entities buying up real estate and treating residents as an asset class to extract profit from, not as human beings. Landlords should do more, and they should do better.
