I felt myself fade into a deep sleep, Enveloped by the spirit of my past, Placed in a world familiar yet foreign to me. Where I could converse with former friends and family. But I had no control and my heart pulled me down, Through and around A dark tunnel in and above the ground... #poetry

I heard the voice of a ghost In the walls In the floor On the other side Of my bedroom door. Its words were my own Spoken in a way To give them meaning I never could. #poetry

Now wealth is worth more than the health of the earth. But what happens when they’ve drained it dry And they’re sucking up dirt through massive steel straws. #poetry

The earth’s blood is tainted, Shot up with poison. The earth’s heart is tainted, Shot up with medication That we’ll feed to our kids In happy meal packages with paper straws. #poetry

Have we ever thought to stop and ask How the same roads Can lead to so many different worlds? And there’s always a wrong road And there’s always a right, And they share the same signs no matter which way you come or go. You could find love, find friends Or pay with your blood. #poetry

We drive cars on roads made for our return But some don’t ever return. We push our feet into the ground So we can feel like we’re moving forward, Knowing damn well We will walk this path again. #poetry

I was wandering around the basement of a city, There were televisions show episodes of the world that never aired and scenes of a life that wasn't and could never be mine, That I could pause and fast forward, Play and rewind... #poetry

I don’t want to live But I don’t want to die Is there a way I can exist, Without living my life? Is there a way to see Without needing eyes? Is there a way to breath Without needing oxygen? Is there a way the start Can be the end? #poetry

Surrounded by prideful city folks With souls like sunken titanium boats. They oil their smiles everyday Repeat programmed gestures and only have a few things to say. #poetry

I’ve been the court jester, I’ve been the class clown, I’ve been the kid on the carousel everyone has forgotten about. And sometimes I’ve forgotten about myself. But how could I not? When my life has been lost And rarely feels worth ever being found? #poetry

As the city thaws The people thaw with it. And the pent up sadness, anger, and frustrations of winter splatter over the summer asphalt like hot vomit… #poetry

The people in this city are like cigarettes– Waiting to be lit, smoked, burned out and crushed by the heel of a stranger. #poetry

When the wind whispers through open windows lace curtains become ghosts on the run. And as a stream of light passes through the glass It turns specs of dust into stars Never meant to last. #poetry

With tangled telephone poles Impersonating trees. With western buildings Where woods once were. The roads here make no sense, Nothing is near, yet nothing is far, Everything is marked by signs I can’t comprehend. And it’s a lifetime away from the closest friend. #poetry

Is this where it ends? On this lonely road With miles of ghosts And not a single home. Where the trees reach down And the sky is always gray. Where darkness holds the pulse Of the heartache and the pain. All for me. All for me. #poetry

Well the years haven’t been too good to me. I thought I mistreated them But realized too late That it wasn't really my fault. Bad days and bad luck Are all I’ve had. Only been happy when I’m feeling sad. #poetry

I saw a rusted steel silo And knew it held secrets of mine. If the sunlight hits it just right, They will be revealed And run wild through the fields. But for now it’s settled in the shadows, And I’ll watch it turn to rust, Become nothing more than rubble Covered in a ghostly layer of dust.

Why is it that guys like I Often find ourselves on the wrong side of life? Why is it that to women like you We are just ghosts That you can choose to see or choose to see through? #poetry

Need to get all out Without saying it too loud? Well I’ve got the ears and mouth To affirm your thoughts. Need something moved from here to there And back again? Well I’ve got the hands. I’ll be your temporary friend And you can let me go when you feel better again. #poetry
