Trump is 30 points underwater. Dems swept the special elections. People know the GOP is responsible for the shutdown. So the Dem Senators pulled out their big guns... and shot themselves in the foot.

Predator Badlands was a lot of fun. I was expecting scary sci-fi but this turned into a very enjoyable movie.

Still blown away how clutch Yamamoto was in Game 7. Can't imagine the pressure he felt.

Android’s new security screening feature is bad and I fucking hate it. They wanted a mechanism for Google’s security team to block malicious developers. But the same mechanism can be used by the state to control what we can do with our devices.

As someone who measures swimming in meters and running in miles, using Strava is frustrating. If I use miles for running, Strava uses yards for swimming. If I switch swimming to meters, running will become meters/kms too.

Google has crippled cropping on the Photos app. You can't drag corners individually anymore. There's Auto Frame now that uses AI but it doesn't work. You also cannot edit an edited photo anymore, just the original. Photos is a wonderful app but Google is going destroy it so they push us more AI.

I cannot for the life of me dictate "passport" to Google. It always transcribes it as "Paz Paz". As someone who didn't grow up in the US, I guilt myself into believing that maybe my accent is not good enough for Google to understand.

On Google Maps Android app, whenever I try to save a place to a list, the last list I saved in is automatically selected making me think that I already saved it. This has been going on for a month that I don't think it's a bug. Bad UX choice though. Why not just put the last list used at the top?

Paid over $400 for 2 years of Whoop and version is 4.0. They just announced new models (5.0) of the tracker which has an upgrade fee. Whoop says they can't guarantee support for 4.0 even though I already paid for the service. I have to pay an upgrade fee so my device would continue to work.

Duterte is all bluster. Pretty certain he'll find a way to avoid arrest including inciting violence. Big development if ICC warrant is indeed out.

The removal of military officers in the U.S. reminds me of how Marcos Sr. used military control to establish his dictatorship. The 1986 People Power Revolution only became successful because the military turned against him.

I really don't get why Apple decided to roll out its AI widely. For context, Australian Open is not yet over. Only the quarterfinal round has concluded so there is still no men's champion. From:
