Tonight Gender Expansive Book Club meets and I had a dream on repeat that I was defending Theo from The Pairing from everyone because I feel like they need it (and therapy) after reading comments. I'm like no! I was so invested in this character getting help! Find something else to complain about.

This book I've been listening to was talking about the start of the Antoine Plague vs Justinian Plague and was like we are now gonna go down a "paleoclimatological rabbit hole" and I loudly gasped and am so ready.

I am so stressed about having to fly to the funeral already and now I have another thing to help me not sleep here. 😬

I'm enjoying a non-serious historical romance and for some reason the perspective of museums at the time took me out of the narrative. I know too much. And also was like you expect me to believe someone would have that opinion. (It's rather silly of me)

This was the first holiday book I read that had me wondering if I should read more. I typically only read queer books but I genuinely super loved Love in Winter Wonderland by Abiola Bello. I want to see it adapted and I want to read more books by her.

I'm going to reread some of my favorite Jennifer Dugan books and annotate them to help me write Anna Karenina because I'm really stuck in crafting it genre wise. Pretty sure it's me getting in the way but I do love some analysis (and it can't only be Anna Karenina all the time).

Just trying to focus on work and got another big upsetting about my housing situation and have a feeling it's about to all get a lot worse. And this is when I promised myself to start looking for a new place. 🫠

I'm now almost 50% through The Pairing so maybe I'll be ready for Book Club this week after all. But I really need Theo to get some therapy.

Trying to write but keep getting distracted because I feel like buying more books instead will heal me.

1,619 words for Anna Karenina Retelling and I know I should try to write a lot more, but I'm so tired. But I made it through some challenging scenes that involved me moving little pieces that will play out into something bigger later.

It takes a lot for me to be annoyed by characters in a book but there is something about the characters in The Pairing that I don't like. I genuinely was enjoying it for a bit but now they keep getting on my nerves. But I don't know why. The miscommunication in their past is so outrageous too.

Starting this November 1, my goal is to have 0 drinks until maybe around Thanksgiving where I might have wine or a beer with dinner. I purchased some wine from Croatia and will either save it for December or a special day like if my event is successful this month, I'll have a glass.
