I downloaded Infinite Painter today because I wanted to try sketching with a lasso fill brush, something Procreate doesn’t have even though it’s so simple and useful! If you know any other drawing apps with this tool, I’d love suggestions. This was the best one I’ve found so far

With the OC finished, all that’s left to say is… Happy Halloween! 🎃

3/3, this is the last piece! I decided to tweak the shadows a bit here to make it darker. Tomorrow I’ll share the final result!

Rendering time 1/3! I’m starting with the headshot first! I don’t want any super complex lighting here, since this artwork is meant to be almost like a ref sheet.

Putting all the colored pieces together in the composition already gives a good idea of the final result. Now it’s time for the rendering!

Time to add some colors! When I’m coloring from scratch, I like to test different palettes and check everything in grayscale to adjust the contrast until I’m happy with the result.

Line art done! I’m trying out a new style where I don’t stick to just one perfect, clean line, but keep it looser with some variation.

Final sketch done! This is pretty much how I want the finished art to look. I might change a few details later, but we’ll see how it goes. Now it’s time for the line art!

One thing I always do is adjust the pose when I’m not fully happy with the main result, and that’s exactly what I did with this one too!

Now onto the composition itself! I started sketching and grabbing some pose references. I usually use photos of real people or even other artists’ works as a base, then tweak things around until it feels right for the character

Started sketching with no idea in mind. First a pumpkin-headed cat, then a bat… until I thought, what if he’s a herbivorous bat, so no one suspects he’s actually a VAMPIRE?

I didn’t really plan anything special for Halloween this year… so how about I make a Halloween-themed OC from scratch and share the whole creation process here? 🎃
