The degree to which Blizzard screwed up with the 12.0 transmog updates is astonishing. They ripped out a simple, elegant system that did exactly what it needed to do, and replaced it with a system so obtuse and expensive that it almost feels like a punishment.

Blasphemy to some, I'm sure, but Fallout season 2 isn't hitting the same way that season 1 did for me, at least not so far. Maybe the last 5 episodes will turn my opinion around, but so far it just feels like a lot of random filler to get the characters where the plot needs them to be.

All the hoopla surrounding Divinity got me thinking about Divinity 2: Ego Draconis (or as it is known now, Divinity 2: Director's Cut). I loved that game. Fun story, gorgeous soundtrack and nice graphics (other than a handful of janky animations). I need to give it another playthrough.

I had a great time with this game. Fun protagonist, unique combat, rich setting and memorable NPCs that assist your character in her journey. Definitely worth picking up; doubly so on sale.

Meant Control Resonant* not Revenant.

Ever since I finished Control, I've had this lingering worry that any sequel/follow-up would focus on Dylan instead of bringing back Jesse Faden as the protagonist. So the Control Revenant reveal at the Game Awards was unsurprising to me, but left me disappointed nevertheless.

Hot take: after 20ish hours played, I actually really like the companions in Metroid Prime 4. They're occasionally written with surprising nuance and never descend into 'HOO-AH MARINES' cliches. And Nora's reaction to meeting Samus is so wholesome and fangirlish that it made me smile ear to ear.

Anybody else utterly sick of opening Bluesky and having new 'we have nothing in common but I'm following you in the hopes that you follow back' followers? We need a way to remove ourselves from people's list of followed accounts.

Find someone that loves you, the way Nora Armstrong loves Samus Aran.

I really wish Bryony Corrigan was on Blusky so I could run up to her screaming (in 240 characters) how much I loved her performance as Rook in DATV.

One of the best artists I've ever commissioned in terms of communication and feedback (and obv the finished art itself). Highly recommended.

2 hours in, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is absolutely fantastic. And yes, I've even met the NPC (Miles whatever) that had websites like IGN spamming hyperbolic 'ANNOYING NPCS! GAME IS DOOMED' nonsense. No, he is not that bad. Dude is a dork, but not like... insufferably so.

I realize I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm just not excited at all about the launch of housing in WoW today. It feels like yet another instance of elves, humans and orcs being the only races that got any real effort (exteriors) with absolutely no sign of trolls, gnomes etc getting theirs.

Why did I read, multiple times and in multiple places, how the FO4 Anniversary update is broken garbage only to buy it anyway? Because—spoiler alert—it absolutely broke my game. Two and a half hours of being stuck initializing the update only for the game to freeze and now it won't load at all.

For years I've wanted a Horizon MP game, but the Horizon MMO trailer makes me resent it a little. There's something about seeing a rando character doing everything Aloy does and more that irritated the shit out of me. What's next, a God of War MMO where everyone is a bigger badass than Kratos?
