The pit beneath the queue line of Sherrif's Showdown at Drayton Manor might be the grossest thing I've ever seen in a theme park.

Finally got back to Drayton Manor for Gold Rush. A perfect headliner attraction for the direction the park has been heading in. Though sadly it only seemed to run 1 of the 2 cycles all day.

Spent a great couple hours at the vintage penny arcade at Woodbank Garden Centre. Huge thanks to Robert for showing us around his awesome collection! So many rare machines I'd never seen before, all lovingly maintained. Spot the bonus Wild Mouse 🐁 👀

Themed frogs say trans rights! Theme parks should be spaces where everybody feels welcome. We disagree with gender discriminatory policies in any form, including those purportedly proposed by a certain UK theme park operator 🧙

If I'm paying a premium for on ride photos, the last thing I want to see is a cheap ugly AI generated border that took someone 30 seconds to type into a prompt 🙄

Pairi Daiza has to be the most beautiful zoo in the world. Its been some years since I last visited and I kinda forgot just how incredible it is. Stunning detail everywhere you look with absolutely world class animal exhibits. Can't wait to experience the next enormous expansion!

Who even is this Skinner gobshite and why is he everywhere all of a sudden? He seems desperate for everyone to know who he is.

Glad to have done the funny Plop dark ride before it gets removed. Definitely looking its age, with many effects and animatronics sadly no longer working. But the charm is still there. Lovely quirky little ride. Can't say the same for the queue experience though...

Really enjoyed my day at Plopsaland Belgium. Ride to Happiness is incredible (obviously) but I was also pleasantly surprised by how good the park is as a whole! Great variety of attractions, some quality theming and lots of lovely green space.

Got an exciting week ahead of me in Belgium with my family. Starting with Plopsaland, then 2 days in Bruges, a day in Ghent, 2 days in Pairi Daiza (aka the best themed zoo in the world) and a day in Bellewaerde. Gonna be great!

I have it on good authority that the leak was 100% real and taken from an internal socials post. Apparently they backtracked after the predictable backlash, but the fact that such a policy was considered at all is abhorrent. The community ought to be up in arms about this.

*Supposedly* Merlin intends to ban trans people from using bathrooms in their parks despite no actual legal obligation. So why am I not seeing more discussion about this? The account that originally shared this information now seems to have deleted it. Huh?

It's good to see Pleasure Beach investing in some much needed green space. A park should feel like a park! Hope they keep this, not every square foot needs to be ride area.

First visit since Grand National reopened. So good to have this old thing back, it was missed! Still the best woodie in the park.

Obligatory I saw Oasis post

Here's a cool piece of Blackpool Pleasure Beach history. Decorative panels and a ride vehicle from the old Wild Mouse can be found today in the Old Penny Arcade collection at Woodbank Garden Centre, Yorkshire. Super cool that they were preserved and put on public display!

Bianca's very public enthusiasm for Towers made for a refreshing change and gave me hope for its future. But what really struck me was how highly many staff members spoke of her, and for a while I think that positivity was reflected in the general atmosphere of the park.

The unparalleled thrill of a Victorian water chute ride. Jokes aside, I love this thing. The Peasholm Water Chute in Scarborough opened in 1932 and is one of only 3 remaining in the UK.

Kind of amazing that this thing is still around. And they actually added a new scene?? Amazing. I hope it lasts forever.

Love me a vintage funicular, especially one that has its own theme tune! The Scarborough Spa Cliff Lift turned 150 years old this weekend.

The Efteling Aquanura fountain, found at the entrance of the park. A wonderful tribute to the kikkerkoning in the fairytale forest! These frogs are so enormous and beautiful!

One of my absolute favourite attractions in the world is the Enchanted Tiki Room. I always wanted a tiki bird of my own, so I built one out of bits of wire, springs n strings! 🦜⚙️🎵 This is an old project, but I wanted to show him off again cos I'm still pretty proud of him :)

Does anyone have any recent pictures of the dragon from the defunct Excalibur ride at Drayton Manor? Most of the theming has long since been removed, but satellite images show that it's still there, rotting away in the water...

It's so sad. When I'm at a park, I want to see a designer's ideas and sculptor's skills on display. If all they have to offer is AI art, why pay real money and travel somewhere to go see it? Might as well stay at home and generate some slop yourself.

For the most part I was extremely impressed by Phantasialand, but even there you can't escape the AI BS. Beautifully designed and built new areas, with awful AI posters slapped over the walls. Why??

Can we just talk about how egregious the use of AI is in this promotional art work for Gardaland... Look at the state of those ships, where's the quality control? 😧

It's become inevitable that we're gonna be seeing more and more lazy, cheap, ugly AI art in theme parks. And unless more people start calling it out, it's only gonna get worse. We shouldn't be okay with this.

Underlandet? More like Underrated! This unassuming little dark ride tucked away in a corner was honestly one of the highlights at Liseberg. An adorable classic style dark ride with loads of animatronics and practical effects. I don't care if its for kids, I love it 💚🐰

Loke was incredible, Pleasure Beach is right to get one of these! Just a shame about the ugly brAInding.

Liseberg is, in a word, perfect. Everything is so beautifully kept and each attraction feels just right for the park. What really sets it apart from other parks I have visited is its strong, cohesive sense of style. It's distinctly Liseberg, and it's stunning.

Second attempt was a success. That was adorable.
