I beat Anthony at chess at a coffee shop and the teen girls at the next table cheered. They also thought we were cute. I've never felt more cool than I do in this moment.

When I was revising my novel, I added something I realized was important. It's so validating to see that a beta reader liked that addition. It reminds me that I've grown as a writer, learning to spot some points that need improvement on my own much earlier than I would have when I was younger.

A reminder that Edith Wharton was antisemitic and we should stop adapting her work for the screen. It's been done. Let's find some different voices when we want to explore that era. Maybe put forgotten writers back in print.
