Thanks to the Municipality of Beit Mery and Ministry of Agriculture, we delivered food & installed new Hachiko feeding stations for dogs 🐕 impacted by the war in Lebanon this week. Many animals were evacuated north away from fighting but there’s not enough space in pet shelters.

Today’s Ukrainian cat is Margot, who was rescued by Eugene at Cats on Mars in Kyiv! Despite living under attacks from missiles and drones, Margot greets everyone warmly and likes to be held. 😺

Today I stood with 20,000 teddy bears on the National Mall, each one representing a documented Ukrainian child stolen by Russia. These kids are brainwashed, identity erased, and even made to fight against Ukraine. It’s pure evil & must be stopped. We must Bring the Kids Back. 🇺🇦

Pets are also being impacted by the war in Lebanon, so our Hachiko team from Ukraine is helping with food & building feeding stations. This video is from Saida, Lebanon where our friends met these displaced dogs—a mother with her puppies. Pet shelters are all full due to the war.

This is the devastated town of Kamianka in eastern Ukraine, where very few residents remain. But there are displaced pets still living here, so the team made sure this kitty had some lunch today.

Druzhkivka in eastern Ukraine has turned into an evacuation point as drones make communities uninhabitable. The Hachiko team is supporting this center where families & terrified pets come to await transport—we also make sure they have food for the road. It’s very dangerous here.

On this Easter weekend in Ukraine, our friend “Specs” is both defending the front line from Russian invaders, and feeding cats with Hachiko food we sent him. You can see at the end of the video how destroyed it is where these pets are living. 😔

Meet Ukrainian cat Musyandra! She was found in the woods by the border, and now is cared for by Eugene at Cats on Mars in Kyiv. Despite enduring the worst, Musyandra is a sweetheart. Hopefully she finds her forever home soon. 😺

This Ukrainian cat has learned to avoid Russian drones in the Kherson region by living in a tree. Denis from the Hachiko team put a feeding station below so this little floof and other cats living nearby the destroyed Kherson airport have something to eat.

Caturday lunch in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine 😺 I visited the home of Kati who cares for 25 displaced cats here. They survived a nearby missile strike last summer. The Hachiko team supports dozens of informal shelters like this with food, medicine and sterilization.

This is Levchyk, the Feline Mayor of Lviv. He lives in City Hall and regularly greets world leaders who come to visit Ukraine. We discussed opening a pet hotel in Lviv for cats (and dogs) displaced from the front lines.

This is how kids go to school in eastern Ukraine: underground. I visited a school in Kharkiv that has turned their basement into classrooms, as missiles & drones hit without warning. All Hands & Hearts will help Kharkiv with supplies & solar so kids can still learn during blackouts.

🚨 What it’s like getting a morning coffee in Kharkiv. Nobody really flinches at the air raid sirens here in eastern Ukraine, unfortunately, as they are active for 80% of the day. But life, and coffee, must go on. ☕️

I visited the apartments in Kharkiv recently bombed by Russia. 12 people were killed, including 2 children as they slept in their beds. Stuffed animals sit in the rubble of the destroyed building in their memory. 💔 Strikes happen without warning—it’s why schools are underground.

I went to go visit Ash, who was rescued by our friend Marika the frontline medic, and she’s doing much better now! She has started eating again and hopefully will be able to go home with a new family soon. Ukrainian cats have lived tough lives, but are still so warm & kind. 😺

The memorial in Kyiv’s Maidan square gets bigger every time I visit. It’s a painful reminder of the sacrifices Ukraine is making as it defends freedom & democracy. Some of the photos include the heroes with their cats. 💔 We must keep helping, as they are fighting for all of us.

More everyday heroes in Ukraine: Alla in Kharkiv has taken in 18 displaced cats that live with her in the apartment. She feeds another 15 cats who live outside the building. The Hachiko team is making sure Alla has enough food to keep them all fed and healthy. 😺

Caturday morning breakfast in the eastern Ukrainian city of Sloviansk. The Hachiko team can’t stay here long due to drone attacks, but thankfully we’re still able (for now) to get food to displaced cats here.

We met these displaced Ukrainian dogs in Stepanivka, just outside the constantly bombed city of Kherson. Now they have homes and food to eat thanks to Denis from the Hachiko team! 🐕🐕🐕

There is an informal shelter in Dnipro, Ukraine called “Fluffy Hugs”, which cares for displaced pets evacuated from the front lines. Olha from the Hachiko team delivered food to support the 70 cats and 50 dogs currently living there. We will keep helping! 🐶

Saturday lunch for the displaced cats and dogs in Izium, eastern Ukraine. Izium was liberated in 2022 but remains very close to the frontline with drone attacks frequent. We have a number of feeding stations here, and the team delivers to residents taking care of dozens of pets.

Update on “Ash” the cat rescued in freezing Kupiansk, eastern Ukraine: she was in bad shape, but after a blood transfusion & antibiotics, her fever is down and she’s doing much better. 🙏 Look at how sweet she is to the doctor!

This is the village of Mykolaivka in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine. Russian invading forces are just a few miles away, so it’s under regular attack. Olha from the Hachiko team was able to get food in for the many dogs and cats who are stuck here & we will set up feeding stations.

A Valentine’s Day gift: our All Hands & Hearts Gaza warehouse cat Pisa just gave birth to 2 kittens! We found Pisa pregnant & malnourished, so the Gaza team has been caring for her. We are also now supporting possibly the only vet clinic in Gaza—let me know if you want to help! 🐱🙏

This is Beit Lahia, the furthest north in Gaza where families have returned. No aid has reached here—until now. Our team just delivered fresh fruits & vegetables + hygiene kits. The devastation is hard to put in words, so take a look at the photo. We will be back.

This is Fedya, the commander you may remember from “2000 Meters to Andriivka” (watch it if you haven’t!). Like many Ukrainian defenders protecting freedom & democracy, he also cares for pets on the front line—this is his dog “pkm”. The Hachiko team delivered food for his brigade!

Last night, Russia bombed one of our Invincibility Train Cars in northeastern Ukraine. Thankfully, nobody was hurt! 🙏 You can see toys & books from the All Hands & Hearts children’s area blown in with all the glass. Somehow, the kid’s TV survived. We will clean up and keep helping!

It’s no longer safe to visit the frontline Ukrainian town of Orikhiv, but we’ve been able to send pet food in with the military. A small number of people still live here, taking care of the cats & dogs the best they can. But many have died from the cold and exhaustion. 😔

Lots of hungry Ukrainian cats this morning! Despite having limited electricity and heat, Valentina in Kharkiv takes care of dozens of displaced cats in her apartment. We are making sure they have food & medicine.

Cat rescue underway! Our combat medic friend Marika found this cat in sub-freezing temperatures in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region (still controlled by Ukraine, but it’s very destroyed). She’s ill, so we will get her to a warm, safe place for treatment this week. Suggestions for a name?

With russia destroying Ukraine’s power & heat, people aren’t the only ones freezing. The Hachiko team has been working overtime to make sure the dogs & cats have the food they need to survive—and we are also installing outdoor shelters for displaced pets that have nowhere to go.

Happy Caturday from a frozen eastern Ukraine. Admittedly, the cats are not as well mannered as Ukrainian dogs—no waiting in line here. But I can’t blame them, it’s -20 degrees 🥶
