The white 323i was mine for 6 years, despite being 2.5 years in bits. The Focus was the longest daily for 4 years. The E12, I owned it for 3 years when I first had it and now for the 2nd time I own it, it's been with me for 3.5 years. My wife has has her Focus for 5.5 years

I just had a read through the budget to search for changes in VED for cars and there is no change regarding the 40 year rolling exemption for classic vehicles. A lot of debate and consequent division was sparked by a rumour by an MP and some Youtubers seized on it. Shame on you!

My Focus Ti/Vct has a stuck thermostat and I asked Ford about a new one... £370+VAT! But not in stock, so it's special order. The thermostat for my wife's Ecoboost cost less than £100 at Ford, which is madness. Anyway, found a Gates one online for £120. I guess supply and demand are playing a role

Hi all, Have you used this sealant after you install your windscreens? This is for classics with the rubber seal, not the bondes ones. It seals, but doesnt glue in like silicone. I've seen a few cars with this grey putty between the rubber and bodywork and also on the glass insert.

The thermostat on the Focus is stuck open and only lukewarm air comes into the cabin, while the temp gauge needle at the bottom, even after my 25 mile commute. So, I am doing this as a temporary solution until I replace the thermostat. It'll be weeks until i find the time to do it

Windscreen on and car washed. Locking strips to go in once I know where I put them🧐 Windscreen only temporarily on until next spring when I get it off again to rub down and paint the frame. Then, a brand new rubber seal will go in. Until then, it'll be off the road

Windscreen frame done and epoxy primed. Once the car is back at home, the windscreen will be temporarily fitted to the car to keep it watertight and for the next few weeks I'll clean up and derust the floors for another session of welding, hopefully earlier next year.#bmw

E12 has been taken today to the welders to do work on the windscreen frame. Hope to have it ready soon and finally put the new windscreen back on!

What a small world! Whilst sitting in traffic, I looked in mirror and saw a familiar car, the high miles Volvo S80! It was right behind me and driven by MoneyPitMatt from youtube, who recently took the car from AutoAlex and drove it back to the UK. Turns out, Matt and I live in the same village!

Cleaned up some idle control components and now the engine runs, but hunts revs on idle. However, it runs well I accelerate and drive it. Also, removed the driver side carper and found a massive puddle, a lot of surface rust and after poking with a screwdriver, a hole on the corner 1/2

Remember my old Focus? Well, the number plate was cloned! After being the main content of my channel for 4 years, I sold it to my wife's work colleague's daughter and recently she has been receiving traffic fines at home! Numberplate cloning will be covered in a video soon.

Came to work this morning and saw this Alpine in a fabulous colour, sort of red with a orange accent to it that sort of reminds me of BMW's old Henna Red.

After watching AutoAlex final part of the High Mileage Hero Croatia road trip, I was very happy the S80, aka John, did make it to the end despite the struggles. It also made me think on how many cars I owned, sold still on the road. Out of 34, only 6 are currently taxed and MOT'd.

I never had a starting issue with this car. It has fresh fuel and it stalls after starting. There is duel pressure into the engine, but feels like something is choking it. I wonder if the airflow meter has gone bust... any ideas?

Things again not going well. Car transporter supposed to pick ip the E12 at 8 but texted saying they can't make it until 11, making me to re-arrange everything with my work. And now the car won't start properly and stalls after a jerky idle and i think the air flow meter is toast. FML!🤦‍♂️

Could someone please give me some laptop advice? I need to buy a new one for use at home and do video editing. What specs (processor and ram) would be adequate for the above and for less than £500? Video editing is for YouTube and nothing really fancy. Thanks in advance.

Some work on the E12 dash today. Vinyl on top hardened due sun exposure and very brittle, unlike the lower section which is still flexible. Degreased and filled the gaps with Sikaflex. Next, a bit of plastic filler and vinyl spray. I found a date stamp behind the wood veneer, 6th March 1974

I see a few car YouTubers doing videos about the supposed end of the classic car VED exemption. I searched for info about this, but nothing concrete to support this rumour. We won't know until the budget announcement on 26/11, but the comments section on those videos is lit.

And here it is after a 200 mile roundtrip. It has a wiper scratch, but it's genuine BMW, laminated and it was only £100. Great chat with the seller too about cars.

2nd hand windscreen sourced and to be picked up tomorrow with potentially a couple of spares, depending on condition. New seal ordered from Walloth Nesch as well as a new pcb for the instrument cluster. Welding rebooked for next week and I'll start working on restoring the dash

Scrambled through different glass companies and no one can has the glass in the UK. Pilkington is on special order only and BMW says none exist in stock, not even in Germany. Solution? Either get a second hand one from a breaker in the midlands or order from Walloth Nesch in Germany.
