Each day, and it seems we in the US and also the world are subjected to the sickening evils of Trump. Both immense & petty (sometimes both!) he makes me want to fight his fascism and also to retreat. Last week, I applied for a @pacificcresttrail hike permit, and to my surprise, I start on May 7.

In yet another example of NYTimes "fair and balanced" reporting, there is zero mention of the window for citizen commentary. And no way to share this article. I've not yet figured out why the "article share" ability is inconsistent across the platform. At least they are permitting comments.

How long would YOU be able to go without income because the government took away your right to work? Add to this, being young with no family resources to fall back upon? Add being an immigrant? (even if documented) How would you buy groceries / gas, pay rent, utilities??? Basics? Ask yourself.

This is deliberate - Immoral. Our government is trying to starve her out. She has lived here since she was a baby, is an asset to the non-profit she works for. Sought help from @repdelbene.bsky.social and her office says they don’t even expect a response for another 30 days. This is not right.

I have a friend who is a DACA recipient. She’s a college graduate, not even a traffic ticket. She has applied for work permit renewals over the years. These were always approved promptly, never taking more than 3 weeks. She sought a renewal in December, it’s now March and no renewal. No income.
