Hegseth is either making the classic military mistake of fighting the last war, with the wrong weapons, strategies, and tactics; or he sees the next war as a domestic one, between lethal "warfighters" and a lightly armed citizenry. Such a war will require tough and obedient soldiers, not technology.

Imagine having to leave your post and travel 15 hours to see Trump speak yesterday. "I travelled 15 hours for THAT?" Trump's and Hegseth's speeches weren't substantive--they were simply an exercise of petty power and control--a reminder that Trump is CiC, and the brass has to do what he says.

What Hegseth and Trump did today is nothing less than outline the creation of a police state in America. Trump is calling for sending the military into American cities, while Hegseth is saying the same military will no longer be bound by international law, rules of engagement, or even domestic law.

After watching Hegseth's and Trump's speeches today, I have to wonder. Does Trump want to trigger mass resignations among the top officers in the United States military? If so, why? This is not an insignificant question.

Donald Trump is openly declaring war on American cities while speaking to generals at the Pentagon, all while the government is on the verge of shutting down. Abhorrent is an understatement.

In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it? If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say? Authoritarianism — let’s not pretend it’s something else when it happens in our American cities.

Here is the whole truth. President Trump doesn't give a damn about federal workers, people on Medicaid, people on Social Security, people on welfare, farmers, truck drivers, or anyone else in America. He only cares about himself and humiliating others. That's it. He is not fit for office.

The chances of a country using a tactical nuclear weapon in the next 10 years has significantly increased, in my opinion. In turn, the use of such a weapon increases the risk of a strategic nuclear exchange, either intentionally or through miscalculation.
