The deadline to submit comments to EGLE regarding the proposed landfill expansion is tomorrow, Friday, October 31st, at 5:00 pm. If you share concerns about this expansion, please submit your written comments to EGLE by emailing [email protected].

Today, the House Oversight Committee heard testimony on House Resolution 195, which challenges Michigan’s proposed Health Education Standards.

Last week I hosted a forum on Medicaid at the Milan Senior Center. We discussed the effects of both the federal and state budget on healthcare, clarified misconceptions, and answered questions from our constituents about their healthcare.

We worked hard for a school budget that increases investment in our kids, teachers, and schools. I’m happy to share that every school in District 31 will see increased investment from this budget.

Early this morning a short-term budget agreement was signed that will allow vital services to stay open while budget talks move forward.

I’m following the news of the threat to Monroe County Community College this morning. I’m relieved to learn that everyone is okay. Campus security is working with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department to ensure the scene is clear and is asking that everyone remain off campus.

Michigan’s residents deserve honest representation at every level of government. This is not about disqualifying candidates, it’s about transparency and voters having a choice.

Just recently, we presented tributes to two wonderful families who have given back so much to their community in Milan. The first tribute was to Tom and Vicki Zilke to commemorate their retirement and acknowledge all of the contributions they have brought to Milan over the past 14 years.
