#ShowMeYourKnits is garter stitch this week. This is a Chevron Shenanigans I knit in 2020. 🧶 is DyeForYarn Tussah Fingering. I’ve worn this a lot. Garter stitch really opens up when knit is silk yarn.

A week where I needed mindless knitting so I finished my scrappy Musselburgh Hat - (pattern by @ysoldaknits.bsky.social). Various 🧶 The solid blue/grays are Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply. The black/gray crown is ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ from lanitium ex machina.

@repemiliasykes.bsky.social What are you - and other members of Congress - doing about this? There should be a strong denouncement of this kind of activity and an immediate call for impeachment.

#ShowMeYourKnits is hands - gloves and mitts. Fingerless mitts knit with handspun, black and green gloves knitted with Noro yard, and purple gloves are a mash-up of a couple patterns knit with Miss Babs Killington (wool and silk).

Going to slip in a #ShowMeYourKnits WIP before the prompt changes tomorrow. It’s been a good week for mindless knitting and I’m just a couple rows from finishing the C colorblock section of this scrappy Musselburgh Hat. Happy how the jogless stripe worked out, going from B to C.

Making progress on the Musselburgh Hat. 🧶 is @makerwool.bsky.social Feline Set. I had to edit the brown/beige sections in a few places. Now the color sections are a little short. I think it will all be okay in the end.

Decided to try a Musselburgh Hat with the @makerwool.bsky.social 🧶 Feline skein set. Used all of the mini skein to start ~6”/15.24cm. The rest will be knitted with the self-striping yarn. Stitch count is 128 and the color changes happen where I want or within a few stitches.

A special #ShowMeYourKnits for Christmas Eve/Day cast-ons. I cast on a Ziggy Shawl, designed by Joji. Yarn is silk/mohair by DyeForYarn. Glad I bought this yarn before the tariff nonsense.

#ShowMeYourKnits is Whites & Brights this week. This is the Hudson Ripple Scarf. 🧶is my mom’s handspun Romney. I’m a little farther along - had to stop working on it for a few days. Cold weather and heat running so my hands had little splits - not conducive to working with white yarn.

Woke to a lot of snow. Bands of lake-effect snow all day in the secondary snow belt. Never got to my mom’s to take in her paper. Her drive was just plowed so at least I won’t get stuck tomorrow when I go to take in her mail. Cookie baking and my first 12 Dogs of Christmas Ale of the season.

Finished my Beeswax Hat (designer is @baroquepurls.bsky.social). 🧶 is Mal Rios in Frank Ochre colorway. Not a fan of yellows and oranges but this muted yellow/gold is perfect for the pattern. Well-written pattern. Fun to knit!

Bought wreaths to take to the national cemetery today. Started my car and every system-failure warning flashed on the instrument panel. 34°F/1°C - perfect weather to wait for a tow truck. Aren’t holidays hard enough? I’ll wait to hear what electrical system component decided to give up.

Predicted and started as I drove my mom home from delayed Thanksgiving. A little heavier as I drove home. When we arrived - great niece (9yo), playing with her brothers in the driveway. First question - did I bring Caesar salad? Her favorite thing - for 5-6 years. It’s all she ate. Warms my ♥️.

Thanksgiving is Saturday because my niece is on call. ✔️Pecan pie. Two pumpkin pies next.

The Cavaliers players are dressed up like Georgia peaches. I didn’t like the deep red floor treatment and this City Edition floor makes it easier to watch the game. I’ve heard the Metropark-Cavaliers collaboration as the basis for the color. But it’s a miss for me and I’m a ‘nope’ all the way.

The theme is FLOOF for #ShowMeYouKnits this week. I used DyeForYarn MoFluff Silk Mohair in Last Dance colorway to make Nevasca Shawl last year. I gave it to my niece - she needed a shawl for my sister’s/her mom’s funeral a year ago. Ordered more yarn and thinking I might make a Ziggy Shawl.

Took flowers to the National Cemetery today for Veterans Day. Sadly there will probably be a bit of snow on them by Tuesday. #owrnc

I haven’t been in Target in some time but credit where due - there was an area-wide power outage in Wadsworth, OH. The Target store contacted Feeding Medina County and they were able to save a lot of frozen food before it thawed and would have been thrown out. medina-gazette.com/news/447900/...

Failed #socktober but did finally finish the gusset on my Cosine Wave Socks (designer @verybusymonkey.bsky.social). Good to have work projects but it sure takes up knitting time. Love the socks - love her patterns.

Last week, a guy in front of me at Walmart didn’t have enough money to pay for what he was buying. I offered to pay the difference - it was less than $5. I was buying bias binding for my mom - unusual for me to shop there.

Down to the last few rows of this Musselburgh hat (by @ysoldaknits.bsky.social) in The Life of a Showgirl colorway. First one I made was for my niece (trauma surgeon) and this one is for my niece, her sister (architect). They continue a family tradition of strong, smart, and capable women.
