I now realize how insane this workflow is. So I instead created a dagster workflow and cut out all the duckdb/dbt stuff.

"The agent runs this python script in a docker container, then uses a skill to update the seeds, then runs a full refresh! The agent browses the transactions and then uses subagents to ID new merchants based on web search. This is a much simpler way of keeping track of my spending than excel!"

It has been a hell of a week. I'm running on E after a restful weekend turned out to be anything but. I am ruthlessly prioritizing just fucking making it to 5 pm

Given my recent headphone conundrum, I am wondering if 3 headphones, each with their own specified use case, is the right approach. One for each: - Day to day, including the gym, - Meetings & Desk work, and - Travel

Day to day, my airpods and phone are great. But when I travel, I can't help but notice: phone battery is shit (can't last the whole day just listening to music anymore) and the ANC on my airpods is...palpably worse (yes, I clean them).

In 2020, if a stakeholder asked "where is usage growing but revenue is not", that would kick of a conversation, and meetings, and a JIRA ticket. And now, an LLM can just kind of...do that

I have a blog post cooking about doing hierarchical modelling on experiment results, and how/when between estimate correlation can matter. I'm not sure this is interesting to anyone but me.

AI allows me to break the back of a lot of mathematical problems that I jus wouldn't try because it took a lot of niche linear algebra or analysis I didn't know before. But now, I can work with AI to attempt stuff, and when I don't understand something I CAN JUST ASK IT.

AI is part bundling strategy. The market was flooded with B2B sass you "need" to run a startup, I'm surprised we didn't bundle the bundlers sooner.

We’re billing a prior calculator. I basically do maximum a posteriori to produce an empirical Bayes - like estimate. Trouble is I need to justify the prior for this model.

I’m sure that the writers of the Pitt are drawing out the story for this palliative patient for a reason, but I find the tension so grating and the payoff so small that I wish she would just die already so we can focus on other characters.
