June 24: Members of the FCCPR joined the “Western MA Contingency” to attend the weekly standout at the Burlington ICE Detention Center. The contingency observes on the 4th Wednesday of every month. This week’s event included District 1 Congressional candidate Jeromie Whalen.

Let’s celebrate some highlights from recently signed Fair Share budget: •Total Fair Share funding is now up to $7.3 billion •More than $4 billion in education funding and more than $3.2 billion in transportation funding.

Stone Soup Café will celebrate 15 years of community building, shared meals, and volunteer-powered mutual aid. Sunday, June 14, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. Greenfield Town Common. The event will feature a community meal, dancing, volunteer awards, raffles, music, and family-friendly activities.

“Franklin County Continuing the Political Revolution, a local grassroots organization committed to progressive causes, helped organize transportation by chartering a bus with 48 passengers to make the trip. People came from Franklin and Hampshire counties to join the demonstration.”

FCCPR concluded its online “Endorsement Vote for Franklin First”, to replace the position formerly held by Natalie Blais. Lora Wondolowski garnered 62.9% of the vote to Corinne Coryat's 22.9% and Johnathan Creque's 14.3%. Lora is the winner after counting the ballots using ranked choice voting.

There are five people vying for the seat recently vacated by Natalie Blais. Three have asked for our endorsement. The election will run from Wed 5/20, 12:01am to Sun 5/24 at 11:59 pm Please look for an email from Opa Vote with your ballot.

On March 29th, the FCCPR-Reproductive Task Force presented a discussion and book-signing featuring Loretta J. Ross and Marlene Gerber Fried, two longtime leaders in the reproductive justice movement and author’s of Abortion and Reproductive Justice: The Essential Guide to Winning Rights.

The murders of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti by ICE agents underscore what’s clear: ICE agents make communities less safe. ICE has been terrorizing communities across MA. Gov Healey filed legislation to prevent ICE from operating in schools, places of worship and hospitals. Sign the petition!

On 1/31 there was a stand out in Northampton to demand that charges be dropped against Etal Haxhiaj, a former Worcester councilwoman who is being prosecuted for confronting ICE agents. Simultaneously cyclists took part in a memorial ride for Alex Pretti who was murdered by ICE agents in Minneapolis.
