A Boy with Gundam (10/10) The BEST anniversary tribute since GOTCHA. It captures the type of generational connection a franchise this long can build. Even when its no longer your dad's gundam, it still is gundam deep down.

Chained Soldier S2 (9.5/10) I have no shame in admitting this was one of THE shows I kept up-to-date last season. S1 did the action slightly better, but Passione really was the right choice in polishing a gooner gem into a gooner diamond. DxD fans, your chosen one is here.

The Rose of Versailles (2025) (5.5/10) Surprisingly, I didn't hate this one. Practically requires prior investment to get anything out of it emotionally, but I appreciate the disney musical approach (even if it only fully commits during the rise-up segment).

Labyrinth (2025) (7.5/10) Easy to find cringe, but I dug it? Kawamori's Galaxy Brain may come off cheesier with age, but the way he visualizes "you are your smartphone (and your alt account)" with the same sense of bright-eyed curiosity he did with Macross still makes me smile.

RIP Ciel Phantomhive (1875-1889)

Frieren S2 (9.5/10) The last two eps did feel tacked on, but the prior 8 were just as good as S1 (both in heart, action, and memes). Ep 8 was the definition of jaw-dropping.

Tamon's B-Side (10/10) Utage is who all fans should aspire to be. What elevates this from something like OshiBudo is that it's not content at simply being aware of the fan-idol barrier: it's the fan inside being someone worth admiring just like who they put on a pedestal.

Sentenced to be a Hero (10/10) Easily the biggest surprise of last season. Whether it's pulling out wands like glocks or demons resembling sentient parasites, at any moment this morphed into an entirely different show. Yet somehow, it also delivered everything I'd want from a dark fantasy.

Char's Counterattack [Rewatch](10/10) This was what truly propelled Gundam into masterpiece status. The weight of this rivalry held through years of respectful spite pulls everyone around them like gravity. P.S. This version of Char I can see traces of in Gendo Ikari.

Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis - The Answer (10/10) Maybe it's unrealistic to expect Aigis to achieve the type of world that would free you from your inevitable sacrifice. WE may never see the world where everyone gets back together, but a part of me feels the characters will.

Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender (9/10) While the story does feel caught between being a midquel and a shonen filler movie, the fight scenes and set pieces here are up there with anything seen in the Culling Games or Infinity Castle. . Also everyone's hot now.

This is by far my longest edit for ANN, and somehow it managed to stay viewable with all the music included.

Dandelion (6/10) It was aite I guess? It can be touching and funny in episodic chunks like Gintama, but imagine they then stretched that to 28 mins to make heaven a boring black company. I'm sorry, but this is not the kind of series that needs to end on 38 mins of mid action.

Exit 8 (10/10) So this kind of blew me away? Turns out between producing Shinkai and Hosoda films, Genki Kawamura was capable of shooting the BEST ONER I've ever seen. This is a film that fully earns its Shining reference.

You and I are Polar Opposites Cour 1 (9/10) While I'm personally invested in the one couple that didn't get together yet, I can't deny that starting off with faster pairings gave it time to address what you want to share common ground or stay different.

Trigun Stargaze (2/10) So it's Avatar but with a Teletubbies Ending? I was not a fan of Stampede, but I wish Muto stuck around. The heroes lost their charm, the villains lost their aura, everyone else lost their purpose, and ORANGE lost the plot.

Beastars Final Season Pt. 2 (4/10) All that BS for a fight that finishes itself, a play that's never shown, a political scandal ending on a wet fart, and a kiss we expected 3 seasons ago? I hate to say it, but this time the manga fans were right.

Hell's Paradise S2 (8.5/10) While it's lost the death game hook that S1 had, I can't deny that the extra production time led to it consistently pulling off cooler shit. Hajime Ootani's Ep 8 was on par with what MAPPA was pulling in Culling Games.

Golden Kamuy V (8/10) PSYCH this wasn't the Final Season! 🤑 Honestly for the better: the past few psychos were getting lame and they clearly want to just wrap it up. And for what it's worth, they've set up quite the finale.

MHA Vigilantes S2 (7/10) An unfortunate case of timing a backstory WAY too late and having the one actual vigilante exit the main cast, but Captain Celebrity's arc was surprisingly cute and some of the action cuts in the 2nd half live up to main MHA.
