At Forest School this week, Maple Class had a brilliant time building and lighting their camp fire. They then toasted marshmallows and enjoyed delicious s’more’s!

Lots of the girls in our football team this week weren’t just representing the school for the first time, they were actually playing football for the first time! They did brilliantly and played as a real team, with fantastic saves, tackles and teamwork. They even won too! ⚽️❤️

Our boys’ football team played in their first ever league match this week and absolutely loved it! They played superbly, encouraged each other really well and only lost a due to a world-class strike with the last kick of the game. Thank you to Prestige Sports for organising it. ⚽️❤️

It was Billie’s Book Review this in Oak Class week...this is one of her first books and she confidently told us all about it. We like this book because it has great illustrations, vocabulary and characters.

Children in Little Apples had lots of fun decorating photos of themselves this week.

Pips children are having fun and learning to share and take turns through plenty of collaborative activity opportunities each day.

Willow Class took took their first steps towards learning a new language today…

Our friends from The Roving Bookshop are coming to school with lots of lovely books on Thursday! Look out for a poster with a free raffle ticket on being sent home today and the special envelope to put any book money in coming home on Wednesday.

Maple Class enjoyed creating masterpieces with natural materials. They also drilled and whittled wood ready for the camp fire next week. They finished off the afternoon with a delicious snack!

Harrietta in Apple Class loves producing artwork using leaves and other items from the natural world and is particularly proud of this piece from break-time today - isn’t it fantastic!

What an absolute thrill it was for our pupils to meet the Princess of Wales when she visited Sudbury Silk Mills today! She was so kind and friendly - it was an amazing experience that they will never forget!

It was caving and archery for Mr Woodrow’s group at Thorpe Woodlands this morning. 🏹

Mrs Richards, Mrs Nice and Miss Graham’s groups took to the skies on the zip wire this afternoon at Thorpe Woodlands.

Either side of a lovely lunch at Thorpe Woodlands, Year 6 played some energiser games and tried a range of problem-solving challenges to develop their teamwork.

Year 6 have arrived at Thorpe Woodlands for their residential. After a quick welcome chat, the first challenge is for the children to make their own bed - the current score is Duvets 27 Children 0!

It was lovely to welcome some new faces and catch up with old friends for our Little Apples this week!

Maple Class had a wonderful first day at Forest School. They were climbing, building, balancing, swinging, making and hunting for lots of minibeasts!

It’s a big “ HELLO! “ to Cherry Class on their first ever day at school! We are so excited to welcome them to our St Greg’s family and we can’t wait to see them flourish and shine over the next seven years! ❤️🍒

Ash Class had a wonderful Victorian Day with History Off The Page this week!

They've survived! More special memories for our Year 6 children, who played games on the field, had a fish and chip supper and played hide and seek around the school before settling down to spend the night in the school hall. Some of them even got an hour or two of sleep too!

Willow had a fantastic Roman Day with @HistOffThePage. From making pottery to making olive candles, from marching like a soldier to Roman dancing, from dining at a banquet to creating mosaics, we loved it! A big thank you to parents for providing awesome costumes too! 🗡🛡

🍕A huge thank you to Mr Oz for providing Willow Class with some delicious pizzas today after they designed their own earlier this year. It’s fair to say they were a massive hit! 🍕

Beech Class looked for insects yesterday in the playground for their Living Things and their Habitats unit. Thanks to our new bug-friendly garden area, there were plenty to find!

Have we all recovered yet? Year 6 - what a show! Tears, triumphs and so much talent! Thank you for an unforgettable performance that showcased just how special, unique and wonderful each and everyone of you are - it was incredibly special and a privilege to be there to see it.

What an absolute treat it was today for the school to watch Year 6’s dress rehearsal for Shine, their end of year production. Every single performance was top quality, the singing and dancing were first class and there was lots of laughter and emotion too. We loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Grandma Evelyn and Grandma Freda are very excited to be performing in the Year 6 play to the rest of the school today!

We had lots of fun at Soak The Teacher after school today to raise money for the Year 6 Leavers’ Party. Thank you so much to everyone who took part!

What a week! Oak Class delivered an amazing class assembly yesterday and today they engaged brilliantly when finding out about life inside a castle.

There will be a cake sale on the main school playground at the end of the day tomorrow with lots of tasty treats available - see you there!

Not often you win three out of four games and fail to reach the next round, but that’s how high the quality was and how tight things were for our football team at another brilliant Maxim tournament at AFC Sudbury today. Still smiling though - proud of you, #TeamStGregs!

After learning all about teeny tiny barnacles, children in Pips worked together to make their own rockpool. We think it looks fabulous!
