I’ve put about 20 hours into The Outer Worlds 2 so far, and this game is exquisite. It’s everything I was hoping for and much, much more. I’d honestly say it’s an equal/successor to Fallout at this point. The worldbuilding, characterization, biting satire, RPG elements, gunplay. It’s all perfect.

I’ve been having that thing where my brain filters everything through the lens of an upcoming project, which is legit one of my favorite parts about writing, but also it’s kinda hard not to filter things through a noirpunk lens when you live in a city that looks like this

I’ve obvi got the title, the names of several characters, the setting, the main arc, the personal journey… I don’t think I’ve ever had an idea cohere so completely & quickly. I’ve decided today will be a movie Sunday. On the docket, we’ve got: Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) - first viewing! Bound (1996) - somehow also a first viewing, if you can believe it! Forbidden Zone: Director’s Cut (1980) - rewatch for me, first viewing for Joanna!

I used to be a method writer by like eating pretty much nothing but potatoes for a month to write a starving artist character (that’s silly, don’t do that), so going “method” now by being incredibly poly/gay/sex positive to write my cozy, sapphic little books feels like such a step up 🤭
