ACRE Institute took part in the annual JA Inspire 3-day event held at the Agricenter! We had a hands-on activity called "Soil Showdown: The Battle for Healthy Earth." Here, more than 3,000 8th graders learned about good and bad farming practices and tried to achieve the healthiest soil possible.

Throughout the winter, Dr. Boardman has been measuring the freezing temperature of eggs of the spotted lanternfly in Nashville, TN. This ACRE funded project, will identify whether winter temperatures in Tennessee are cold enough to limit the southern spread of this invasive insect. acre.institute

Dr. Jennifer Mandel gave a very informative talk on Genetic Diversity of Plants in Natural and Agricultural Systems at Overton Park Science Cafe yesterday. She spoke on how plant genetic diversity is the foundation of resilient ecosystems and sustainable agriculture. www.acre.institute
