My overwhelming feeling through the first six weeks of the season is that there are no great teams so far? I imagine some will get there by season’s end, but no one is really standing out yet.

I just can’t believe how bad the offense is this season. I kept hoping they would figure things out, but six weeks in and it remains a total mess.

Put about ten hours into Ghost of Yotei. One of those games where I haven’t progressed the story very much because I’m constantly running across other things I want to do. Exploration feels very natural and rewarding. And I’m now pulling off some kickass combat sequences. Loving it so far 🎮😃

Honestly I had to take the afternoon NFL window off after that Eagles loss, but came back in time to see the Titans-Cardinals madness which was fun.

Well that stunk. I give them credit for continuing to fight. This team is still miles ahead of last year’s. Hopefully they can make more strides as the year goes on.

Ghost of Yotei came in pretty late, so I only got to play an hour. Excited to play more though. While I waited I got to play the first world of Super Mario Galaxy 2 (still incredible obviously) and start watching horror movies for October with Lake Mungo (not sure how I feel about it yet lol).

I didn’t get a new Funko for my birthday this year, so I took a peek at the store while I was out and grabbed this Wild Robot one. I love when a Pop comes with a little bonus buddy and this one has two 😃

October is looking like a great month for games. I want to play all of these: -Ghost of Yotei -Ninja Gaiden 4 -Mina the Hollower -Little Nightmares III -Super Mario Galaxy 2 -Keeper

Finished up Shantae Advance. Fun game with some neat ideas. I could definitely see how it was rooted in some older design ideas, but not all of that was a bad thing. Been back to a bit of Mario Kart World after Shantae as I await Ghost of Yotei on Thursday 🎮😃

These are the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever made. I’ve been taking notes every time I make cookies this year, so I intend to try and reproduce these tonight. Hoping I have found the final form of my classic chocolate chip cookie.

I’ve always wanted to do an escape room. Did my first one (Egyptian Tomb-themed!) for my birthday with a friend. It was only two of us, so we didn’t quite finish it. Wish I had taken a hint on the one puzzle that stumped us for a while. I had so much fun though. I definitely want to do more now 😃

Watching your team’s defense allow a 15+ play TD drive is just the worst.

This offense is so so good. Very curious how they’ll match up with that Miami defense.

A frustrating mistake-laden first quarter. If they can clean it up, I feel like the offense will roll. Credit to Virginia though. They have made some good plays to take advantage of all the mistakes.

I built the LEGO Game Boy 🎮 Really impressed with how they designed the buttons so you can press them 😃

Got a nice haul of LEGO sets yesterday for my birthday and then the Game Boy set I ordered for myself arrived today. Plenty to build 😃

Most excited for Wolverine from that State of Play. Looks really cool and at least a bit different for Insomniac. Excited for Saros too. I loved the core gameplay of Returnal, but I need more permanent progression in a roguelike and that is something it seems they are doing with Saros.

The new Mario Kart update makes some nice changes including adding the P-Switches you have found to the free-roam map, but I’d still like them to break the map into regions and give you an “X completed out of Y total” kind of thing for each area. Then I’d definitely work on tracking down the rest.

I always buy a smaller digital game from my wishlist on my birthday and decided to grab Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution. I love this series (particularly Pirate’s Curse). I wasn’t sure what to make of this one because of the weird development timeline, but I really like it so far 🎮😃

I’m one of those people that gets really depressed around their birthday (mine is this Wednesday). But I am determined to try and enjoy it this year! I have to work the next two days, but then I am off until the following Monday and I am going to try and fill my birthday week with cool stuff 🎂😃

Also I was very happy to have the Eagles game on early and have Olsen calling it instead of Brady, but how on Earth can FOX make Cowboys-Bears the game of the week over Eagles-Rams 😂 I know the answer is just Cowboys but LOL.

Of course as I was watching that FG, I was thinking… maybe they will block it again. But I was also thinking that even if they lost, at least laying an egg in the first half made them say, “Hey let’s throw the ball around a bit.” Which I hope would pay off regardless going forward.

Just totally taken with Hell is Us. Really cool combination of open areas and more linear ones including some cool dungeons. They did a great job creating a rich history and lore to the world as well. Plus the excellent exploration and investigation aspects I mentioned before. What a game 🎮😃

I’m somewhere in Act II of Hell is Us (about ten hours played). Just a really neat game. The no map/minimal guidance thing just makes exploring and figuring things out really rewarding. I’m still pretty meh on the combat, but it isn’t a huge part of the game. Really enjoying this so far.

That was a pretty rough offensive performance, but I’ll take the win. The schedule is so tough, I am happy if they can just win — however it happens — and hopefully things come together as the season goes on. Go Birds 😃🏈🦅
