I’m stuck in this sling until the 3rd of November so the pacemaker implanted near my shoulder heals completely. There’s no way I can work at my easel until I’m out of the splint.

The fatigue turned out to be my heart after all and today I had a pacemaker put in. I can already breathe much better and am looking forward to increased energy.

My art at my local library….i had hoped to get 2 more done but the heart failure is hard to manage right now.

What happened to this guy reminded me of these two concepts from ancient Greek myth . Hubris and nemesis.

I don’t know how much of this fatigue is from sleeping poorly or a symptom of the heart failure. Probably a little of both. I’m up against a deadline to finish this portrait of Dolly so I’ve been working on it while not sleeping. The laundry needs doing this morning too.

I’m not sure if I’m going to tackle her eyelashes today. Cutting and gluing those little pieces of paper is a pain.

Now that I’ve taken in the heart failure diagnosis, had valve surgery ruled out for now and have meds adjusted I’m back at my easel. I need to have all my pieces done by 22 September for October show.

This piece (and hopefully the Freddy Mercury piece) need to be done by September 22nd. This congestive heart failure has slowed me down. The good news is I found a seller on eBay who has fabulous ephemera for various artists.

The eyes are labor intensive but a good place to start working on the face.

Did a little work on Dolly but then my blood pressure dropped enough for me to just be off.

I’m finally feeling well enough to get back to my easel.

Managing congestive heart failure, even in the early stages isn’t easy. I got the b/p up where it needed to be with a medication adjustment then it dropped again yesterday and today. It hasn’t been falling down and hitting my head on the door frame low again but it is unsteady on my feet low.

My air conditioning is fixed. I’ll take the portable unit out of the window in a little while. I got a little dirt therapy by in this morning and now I’ll get a coat of varnish on the Amy Winehouse portrait. Tomorrow I’ll start Dolly. All is well in my world thus far.

I spent another night in the hospital. This heart failure is very early on and we just need to get the medication adjusted. Tomorrow I’m going to attempt to get back to my easel.

So I’m getting nothing done on the Amy Winehouse portrait because I’ve been in the hospital the last two nights and days. It looks like I’ll be here through the weekend. Lung and heart issues to figure out.

Making some real progress on Amy today but I’m going to have to get the chicken salad made too.

I spent a little time working in the garden and then on to Amy.

After sorting paper for 4 days I finally got a small amount of work done on Amy.

Since I only had a few weeds left to pull and two thyme plants to get into the herb garden I’ve made some good progress on My.

I’m still waiting for the vintage Rolling stone magazines to arrive so I can figure out just what I’ll have to incorporate. Still, I’m working a little.

I did my laundry, weeded most of the garden then I harvested some fresh dill and made dill dip. I’m done now and am watching Star Trek Strange New Worlds again.

It’s all in the eyes. I should have the vintage Rolling Stone magazines I ordered by Wednesday so I’ll leave the background alone for now.

Hans Scholl along with his sister Sophie and a group of friends wrote, printed and distributed leaflets of the White Rose urging Germans to passively resist the Nazis. They were all executed. The second piece of my RESIST series is finished.
