#ThrowbackThursday Normanby Hall was constructed during the Regency Period between 1825 and 1830 however the first reference of Normanby Hall appeared in the Domesday Book of 1086 and documentary evidence suggests that there were at least two earlier mansions on the site.

#Makers The theme of today's session was the Tiddy Mun, a legendary bog spirit, who was believed to have the ability to control the waters and mists of The Carrs of North Lincolnshire. The group made their own Tiddy Mun figures and some Makers decorated a mask.

#WhatsOn The Youth History Group have made the final tweaks to their new games display: creating a handlist, choosing images for the display panel and even picking a hand-made rug to place in front of the fire in the doll's house.

#WhatsOn Archaeology and History Club have been learning more about the Stone Age. We did research in the Archaeology Gallery, handled some replica tools and studied examples of prehistoric art from around the world. We used this as inspiration for our own creations.

#Makers We had a really fun session today. We started by looking at Lincolnshire as a county and how it was known as Bomber County during World War II due to the squadrons based here. We then made paratroopers and the group took turns trying to land theirs on a target.

#ThrowbackThursday Edmund Cordeaux, Winteringham. Born in 1814 at Brigsley, near Grimsby. In 1836/37 he began working for the Burkhill family as a groom at the Manor House Farm, Winteringham. He worked for the Burkhils in a variety of roles for the rest of his life.

#Makers In today's session the group looked at photographs from the upcoming Ian Lee - 88 and Out exhibition. We talked about what sounds would go with the imagery. Madi also started putting the Maker's chosen items in the display case.

#WhatsOn Lots to be done this month in Youth History Group. We voted on our new logo and put text together for the panel of our new display. We tweaked plans for object placement in the case, then handled additional objects ready to create a dolls house display within it.

#WhatsOn Archaeology and History Club have been exploring Roman Britain. We did some research in the Gallery, worked out how to wear a toga, got to grips with coins used in the Roman era and created a herb bag to take home.

#ThrowbackThursday The old Red Lion public house, Broughton, with wooden wall supports around the main entrance, c.1900 This is a front view of the pub with Bertha Cottingham on the right. It was demolished in August 1905 to make way for a new building with the same name.

#WhatsOn Youth History Group. We explored local newspapers printed between 1939 and 1945 in this month's session, as we started a new project linked to WWII. The group discovered lots of interesting themes emerging which we will come back to and research a little further.
