my first adventure in finding love is over. First two dates were great, second two brought in a lot of stress I was unprepared for. Learned what I can, picking myself back up, and we keep going I guess.

My head canon is that Fluttershy wanted to be with Rainbow Dash, but Rainbow rejected her (lame) and picked Applejack instead. Fluttershy was heartbroken, but Discord really helped her through it + was there for her. Fluttershy then chose him.
