#10, my favorite read of the YEAR so far! Perfectly suited for an autumnal read: a haunting, rougarou lore ... read by the author, and timed during the early pandemic. I was so delighted by how much I enjoyed this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #OcTBRChallenge

#9 and absolutely delightful, The Village Beyond the Mist by Sachiko Kashiwaba, translated by @averyudagawa.bsky.social. I can see how this inspired Miyazaki. An absolute delight of a read, with wondrous illustrations by Miho Satake. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #OcTBRChallenge

Fantasy: read the first book of Tim Probert’s “Lightfall” series, “The Girl and the Gardulian”. The art is just gorgeous. Also contemporary romance, because a novel idea jumped almost fully formed into my brain after reading one & I can’t stop thinking about it 😬 #OctTBR

And read number 3 stays with vampires but switches it up to horror
