New shoes always lift the spirits. New shoes at any age are a source of inner joy. Comfort and style fusing together to create the perfect combination. Sometimes it is a short quest and happens quickly. Sometimes you do a lot of sole searching before you find shoe heaven.

One of the best things to emerge from meaningful peer conversations around writing is that it leads to sharing potentially written forms that are different, rather than a stultifying sameness. Such conversations lead to the individual thoughts and ideas of the writer emerging in unique ways.

Resist the temptation to say- 'Hurry up, start writing.' All writers, regardless of experience, need time to think, sort out ideas and rehearse their words in preparation for the important work that follows. Encourage investment in thinking.

I must be forgiving of those who struggle to stay within the white lines of parking bays. They probably didn't have coloring books as children, so staying inside the lines is a challenge.

Another poem back in my notebook after a week in the weather while posted on The Poet Tree on Fisherman's beach reserve. Publishing done differently.

As I drove home from the supermarket recently, I passed a woman walking along the esplanade. She found herself caught in a sudden downpour. Her response was to tilt her head back, open her mouth and catch a few drops of rain. Writers are observers. We live life twice. I offer this as evidence.
