One unexpected benefit of having to catch up on F1 from so far back (I just finished watching COTA), is that the races were so long ago, I've forgotten any results that I got spoiled about.

242nd time's the charm apparently for Nico; and what a race #F1 had at Silverstone today for him to do it in. I didn't think anything'd top Interlagos, at least for races I'd see, yet here we are. The highlight reel might as well just be the whole race from start to finish.

Every #F1 race recently makes me wonder more... is Max wringing out every last scrap of performance from a virtually undriveable car? Or is there some serious mismatch of spec/parts between the first and second Red Bull car somehow?

Only 1 point between Ferrari and Mercedes. It may not be for the top of the #F1 constructor's championship, but I'm loving how close the two teams are for 2nd place!

As with many others, I was worried that the "promotion" of Tsunoda to the main Red Bull #F1 team would be a curse more than blessing. Even I didn't think it'd be as bad as it's turned out. Makes me wonder just how bad the Red Bull is in terms of balance/drivability.

Race by race evaluation of Colapinto is rough... and I feel counterproductive for Alpine. Of course, performance is wanted and expected by the time you reach #F1; but this kind of pressure on a driver, especially when your team's car is clearly behind the majority of the field only invites mistakes.

I don't remember a single time that I've watched a disappointing Canadian #F1 Grand Prix. Yesterday's race was no exception.

Finally managed to find time to watch the Spanish Grand Prix and uhh... so much for a mix-up of the field with the updated front wing rules. On the bright side, looks like the Mercedes vs Ferrari fight is really heating up.

A front wing snapping off from wing flutter due to turbulent air... can't say I've seen that before

First round of pitstops for the race. Tyre management races aren't the most cinematic, but I love seeing the strategy slowly unfold. I'll admit, some on-track overtaking would be more fun to watch, but this kind of suspense is fine too.

First Sprint race of the year and I stand by my opinion that they are actually a good format. Having the drivers scramble with less practice sessions to dial in setup and driving style 100% leads to more entertaining racing.

What I expected: Sauber to struggle to get a point this entire season. What I got: Ferrari behind Sauber in the championship. How in the world!?

Both Saubers outqualifying a Red Bull was not on my bingo card for Melbourne, or this season for that matter. This F1 season looks like it'll live up to my expectations... so long as McLaren doesn't just run away with the championship.
