I was working on figuring out steam achivements for my game then realized that that is a feature people on other platforms would be missing out - so why not just make achievements (in general) so everyone it, and if you're on steam you get that pop up. Yee! #indiedev

Looks like I'm ready to actually get the text in 7821 Akuji translated! All the systems are in-place. I think. Gonna take next week off for travels, so gonna look into steam achivements for the time being. Once that's done I can start on my next game.

Looks like when setting the language in #unrealengine (so-called Culture in-editor) the language setting needs to be reapplied for every new UI widget that is instantiated? I'd though Culture was like a global setting that would be set-once work-everywhere. #indiedev

Ooooo one of my housemates at #spelkollektivet played 7821 Akuji today and I picked up a few things that need to be changed/fixed (spelling and grammar errors, gah!). Performance wise, it was running ~60fps on a 3070 with raytraced shadows enabled, pretty chuffed!

lol looking into where disk space is eatup up by.... Textures for non VAT game assets, 15mb on disk. All non-VAT geometry on disk, 165mb VAT textures+geometry: 360+mb XD VAT = Vertex Animated Textures - vertices in a 3d model are animated by looking up a texture. #unrealengine #gamedev #indiedev
