Baraka was a gorgeous non-narrative film taking the viewer through horrific historical events and present (90s era) catastrophes interspersed with vast natural and cultural beauty and human connection. Bonus: exquisite soundtrack.

As Ben grew Han & Leia drifted apart. It's better if it's more like real life because it's easier to relate. They spent time apart. Han went with Chewy & Leia led the resistance. They were never the "no matter what" solid couple. He felt guilty. So did she. He's a doofus who couldn't be a Father. 💔

Nobody picked up the spoiler here? We know Babu & Grogu are working together from the trailer. Now we know Rotta isn't just a cameo. He & Mando have to work together? "A good chunk of the movie" is the middle act fully. When YouTubers are grifting this remember you heard it here first friends. 🖖

I assumed from the still released of Rotta the Hutt from The Mandalorian & Grogu this was a cameo. He's in some kind of arena. A fight/battle/betting event? We were supposed to be reminded of Jabba overseeing the Pod Race. Jeremy accidentally dropped the attached character/screen time spoiler. Cool.

Finn started The Last Jedi trying to run away from the Rebels believing that that was the best thing to help Rey. He ends the film prepared to die for the same Rebels. This is all because of the failure of Canto Bight & Rose & DJ. That's not doing him dirty. Jedi Finn is in the future for sure 🫴.

For me, TLJ captured the spirit of the original trilogy better than any 'safe' sequel ever could. It took risks. It challenged us. That’s exactly what Lucas did back in the day. Rian Johnson understood that Star Wars isn't a museum piece—it’s a living, breathing myth. I’ll stand by this one forever!

The cinematography is 💯. Steve Yedlin is a wizard. The throne room fight? The Holdo Maneuver? The salt flats of Crait? Every frame belongs in a museum. It’s not just a 'movie,' it’s pure visual poetry that pushed the medium forward. 40+ years of fandom and nothing has ever looked this good. Period.

It’s the deconstruction that makes it work. To move forward, you have to let the past die—not by forgetting it, but by learning from the mistakes made. Luke’s journey from cynical hermit back to the spark of hope is the most human Star Wars has ever felt. A masterclass in subverting expectations.

I've said this many times. As an original fan who saw Star Wars in 1977, The Last Jedi IS my favourite Star Wars story. Visually breathtaking. Compelling character arcs. Truth about Religion & failure. The Last Jedi goes further than anything else in the galaxy far, far away! Thanks Rian. The GOAT!

I miss when being a fan didn't mean being told how to feel by a confused cynic. The grift has replaced the soul of the archive. Hashtag freedom. 🙏

Star Wars is about many, many things. The older I get I'm happy for the more nuanced characters we get in The Acolyte & other new stories. We had them before but we have more to choose from. For me its a perfect storm of thoughtful escapism peppered with people struggling with institutional trauma.

Han Solo is the reluctant hero. He makes positive choices despite his core sense of not wanting to get involved. He repeatedly returns to that negative way of thinking. "Leia doesn't want to see me." Ben interpreted his parents service as rejection & embraced the lie that seduced his Grandfather.

Han tells Kira that he's a terrible person. Not the good guy. Han tells Lando that he wasn't close to his Father but he built YT-1300 Corellian ships. Maybe he felt close to the positive memory of his Father on the Falcon. He inadvertently passed on the self loathing to Ben. Hereditary dysfunction!

I'm rewatching Solo. The darkness of the lighting is so perfect for the Imperial setting. When released the response to my positivity was largely met by grifters telling me it was badly lit. Sure. Somebody on YouTube said that. Then others repeated it. The algorithm worked. That doesn't make it so!
