I stopped posting on Twitter when Musk took over and formally deleted my account in October 2024. Even though I wasn’t posting, it was a huge relief to fully delete.

When I feel like my work is weird and cringey, I like to take a break and listen to an audiobook. Currently, I'm listening to Dune Messiah, which is perfectly reminding me that weird and cringe is the path to greatness. (I must not cringe. Cringe is the mind-killer. Cringe is the little death.)

It’s nearly 2 PM and my cat has been awake all day. I can not get her down for a nap. This is a normal problem for a cat owner.

I'm extremely disappointed to report that in the week our TV has been out at the repair shop, I've written a good 5000 words on my novel. There will be some changes in TV habits going forward.

Second generation at least. Never smoker myself. I also consumed a lot of second hand smoke in childhood.

Earlier this year, I made an ironclad rule for myself. If, after the first chapter of a book, I do not feel compelled to continue reading, I don't buy it. I haven't been disappointed with a book since then. If an author can't hook me in a chapter, they're not for me.

My father lost his parents' native languages (slovak and magyar) because of this misguided advice in the 1950s, and, as a result, we all lost them. Growing up bi- or multi-lingual can be a bit slower at first but is a great advantage later.

I have a complex, multi-layered time management system involving two email accounts, two calendars, a to-do-list app, and reminders coming from all directions and it is keeping me SO DIALED IN. I can do all things as long as I know what they are and when to do them!
