The 'Irishman Abroad' podcast host Jarlath Regan joined nurses and staff in the Mater Hospital to spread some festive cheer and to help raise funds and awareness for patients in the hospital, especially those who won't get to go home for Christmas.

💡Did you know?💡 The Mater Hospital completed 347 robotic-assisted surgeries in 2024! This was made possible thanks to our incredible supporters who allowed us to fund the state-of-the-art Da Vinci XI robot in recent years.

“I thought I was doing the Dickie Dip to help everyone else. I didn't realise how much it would help me," Frank, a third-time Dickie Dipper shares.

Ronnie was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and wanted to give back to the staff who took care of him while in the Mater Hospital, so he joined the Dickie Dip!

Meet Ronnie 👋 He shares, "Last October I got a diagnosis of prostate cancer. It was obviously a difficult time dealing with that news and I felt I had no other choice but to try to turn a negative situation into a positive one. Then along came the Dickie Dip.

When Mark was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, he was utterly stunned. No more sports, no more work, and what of his family?

"There aren’t many occasions where you can say standing starkers on a beach with a bow tie is doing good for mankind – but this is one of them. The Dickie Dip is about more than just the craic (though Lord knows there’s an awful lot of craic on show!)
