Not a good sign for Milan, if he can't win this sprint. If Groenewegen has to DNS tomorrow, Milan will be the only big name sprinter left who can't climb. Meaning the pace on any non-pan-flat stage will be made to drop him for the versatile guys to win. He needs to win the sprints where he's there.

Multiple of the bigger sprint names went down hard in that crash. Among them Groves and Groenewegen. Judging by how Groenewegen held his had, I think he's likely going to have to abandon, which would be devestating for the Rockets. Groves looked mostly like road rash, but possibly a concussion?🤕

Visma chilling at the back. This is new. Not really new, they've done this in races with Jonas this year. But new for GTs. They've said that they deliberately tried this out in Paris-Nice and Catalunya. It seems they were happy with the strategy. Higher risk of losing time, lower risk of injury.

I do like it when teams send proxies to take away bonus seconds from other teams' leaders. It makes for fun intermediate sprints and it's a sensible tactic. But there really is no point if the team you're trying to take the bonis away from is also sending a proxy 😭😂

How does Bardiani always have one of the nicest kits in the peloton btw? It's not fancy, but it always looks super clean and it has an easily recognizable colour, even among the other blues, that's pretty and bright enough to stand out in a heli shot.

Honestly, the Soudal Quickstep Giro jersey looks waaaaay worse than the new Ineos one. The Ineos one looks uninspired but not ugly. I like the orange back stripe. But the SQS one? Oh boy, that's actively ugly. I already didn't like it in the promo shots, but it's even worse in reality. Just yikes.

I think that is a good choice. Alpecin and Groupama would have been a lot of pressure to perform and I don't think he does well with pressure. On Tudor the primary focus is UCI points and winning only the secondary one. He can do UCI points without stress and then maybe the wins will come in time.

This is such a dumb suggestion. There are loads of riders with long sicknesses or even yet unexplain health issues. They shouldn't be racing. So either you introduce medical checks, in which case some sick riders will be forced to race, or people can just fake illness to avoid that minimum number 🤦‍♀️

Ok, so my idea with getting into American Football was that it would help me get over the offseason blues and then cycling would get me through the football offseason. Well it turns out I still missed cycling in winter and I still miss football now, so now I have two offseasons to suffer through 🙁

No podium for Nordhagen, but still very happy with how he looked and how he rode today. That Tour de Romandie was undoubtably a huge step in the right direction for him. He's still only 21 years old.

As much as I was knocking Kruiswijk yesterday, he's actually doing a very nice job today positioning Nordhagen.
