Certainly not as down as some on Cymru’s chances today. Fiji have a lot of top players and are fairly settled, but there was big improvement from Tandy’s side in the Six Nations and after a long camp they should be ready to push on again. Won’t be easy, but definitely winnable.

Not sure Tom Bowen will ever play too much senior rugby at full-back, but it certainly gave an insight into his skillset beyond his pace and finishing. Pops up in midfield, breaks some Uruguayan ankles and creates a line break opportunity. Lovely stuff.

Alex Ridgway has got a serious turn of pace on him for a pretty big man in the back row. Something almost Faletau-ish about the way he accelerates without obviously looking like he's going through the gears.

Cardiff winger Tom Bowen has avoided a ban after receiving two yellow cards in Cymru D20’s win over Georgia U20. The panel felt the sin binning and red card were punishment enough, noting one yellow was for a technical offence.

Liam Belcher has been ruled out of Cymru’s summer games with a neck injury suffered in Cardiff’s URC quarter-final defeat to Stormers. Tough news for the skipper, hopefully get him back fully fit for the start of next season.

Cardiff have signed Tongan back five forward Semisi Paea from Moana Pasifika. The 27-year-old is a MLR winner with NE Free Jacks in 2022, and has made a combined 47 appearances across Bay of Plenty in the NPC and Moana in Super Rugby. He also has 10 caps for Tonga.
