Archivist, often on two wheels. Nutmegger. Colgate alum.
Another day, another 311 request. Pedestrian signal not working. Pretty sure it gets turned off every time there's a [University] men's basketball game. Foul!

Can we go to the used Presidents lot this weekend and trade this one in for a different model? Heck, at this point I'd even take one with a Mission Accomplished banner.

The combination of social media, archives, and snow always reminds me of the winter we were planning the NEA-MARAC joint meeting.

8" of snow that ended at 5pm yesterday. A city (within a city - this state is so weird) of 3.14 sq miles. And they still haven't managed to plow my street. A plow went up the street, but there's no evidence it used the blade. Toto, we're not in Connecticut anymore.

We are only expecting 8-12" here, so probably won't need the official

Clearly this woman has not moved in the past two decades, and certainly not by herself to a city where everyone has been here for at least 20 years. I moved because I needed a paycheck, not because I want to find myself. F-.

I live in a city within a city, which is a concept I don't quite understand. One consequence is that I can't vote for the big city's mayor. So when an ad appeared in my FB feed for one of the two candidates - whose half brother is actively causing harm to this country - I reported it. No regrets.

Amazes me that with all the info FB gathers on us, they can't figure out that someone has died and that maybe there's no need to wish them a happy birthday.

Per You Snooze and Whirrled Rapport, I moved from the #19 place to live to...one that didn't even make the list. Oof. As I have been rather impressed by the cycling infrastructure in my new location, though, I'm more convinced than ever that they just pull names out of a hat.

My new city is earning points w/ cycling infrastructure. This is a US Route w/ a 2-way protected bike lane & an island for people to wait for the bus. Bus doesn’t have to stop in bike lane. Even a bench while you wait! Sure, it’d be nice if there was cover for rainy/cold days, but it’s something.

Adventures in packing... I own a bundt cake pan. Have I ever made a bundt cake? No recollection. Can I bear to part with the pan? No, because what happens if I wake up in the middle of the night and all of the sudden want a bundt cake? Because, you know, this happens all the time.
