What I'm trying to show by sharing my story is that gender issues are no reason to hate or to be scared. I'm just a woman that went through testosterone puberty. And now, I'm getting the treatment I need to live a happy life anyways. 🩷

First I think I needed someone to show me that I could be me and still do all the things I cared about. And then once I had that, it was about seeing who would still be there for me and who would leave. Nothing was ever guaranteed except a chance to love myself. 🏳️‍⚧️

I realized today that witnessing platonic physical and social intimacy among women is probably my biggest dysphoric trigger aside from my physical body. Cis men are taught that platonic physical intimacy is wrong. As trans women, we often have to reprogram ourselves to make room for it.

Ouch! This book hurt me. Not because it's bad, quite the contrary. But it knows where to hit trans women. Right in the gender. While I cried and suffered from multiple bouts of dysphoria while reading this, I am comforted that the author saw me suffering and treated me with respect the whole time.

Kind of what happened to me... is that my body began to reject what it wasn't. And that was a traumatic experience for me as a trans woman. I really didn't expect to not have a choice in being a girl. I'm grateful that I am. But that was really scary.

That fear of transition regret cis people are projecting, is the dysphoria they would feel if they were subjected to a body that didn't align with their gender identity. Trans people know some changes are permanent. That's what we want.

Well, the Government of Quebec just decided that only trans women who have had GRS will go to women's prisons. That means that in Quebec the real threshold to determine if you are a woman is whether or not you are willing to get your penis inverted. Idiotic and cruel.
