We're saddened to hear of the passing of VNDB's founder Yorhel. Both VNDB and VGMdb launched in the same year, united by a shared goal of preserving niche parts of gaming history that might otherwise be lost. Yorhel's work leaves a lasting legacy. Our thoughts are with the VNDB community.

Due to a significant increase in aggressive bot activity over the past year, we have implemented new measures to improve site stability and reduce lag. Development of an official VGMdb API has been in progress for some time, and we're aiming to launch it next year. This API will make it easier for developers to integrate VGMdb's data, such as album details, artist information, and tracklists, into their own apps or websites. Stay tuned for updates.

In just two days since this post, we've had volunteers offer to translate VGMdb into Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Afrikaans. Thank you all! We're still open to adding even more languages, so don't hesitate to reach out!

We have identified an issue that has been preventing the automatic archiving of submission links for the past six weeks. A fix has just been implemented, but it will take some time for the system to process and archive the missed links. Please note that site operations remain unaffected.
