Hot Headlines! Overnight temps will remain warm. The week ends with less haze and a few storms. A few showers also possible Saturday, but by the second half of the weekend, the dust returns and the temps will get even hotter.

These are recent examples of July Systems across the Atlantic Basin. If anything were to develop this month, it would do so in the highlighted areas. So far, El Niño is keeping everything quiet.

There's a small chance for isolated t-storms thru Saturday as Saharan Dust wanes and a little surge of moisture arrives. But it will be short lived. The dust makes a comeback by Sunday.

Highs will remain above typical thru next Thursday. The Heat Index is set to hover between 105 & 110°. Please stay weather aware and remain safe.

Lets remember our pets as well during this above average hot streak. Our temps will be forecast in the mid 90s for Friday. In cement under shade, that surface will feel like 106°. Hotter if in direct sunshine... and up to 146° if walking on hot tar. Keep them safe, please.

A Risk for very Hot temps will be present again on Friday. There's a high probability that another Heat Advisory may get issued.

When the humidity is high, it makes the temps feel that much hotter to the skin. This is known as the heat index, or "Feels-Like" temps. These are the hottest readings for Thursday.

The end of the week and weekend promises to be very hot. There's a small chance for a few cooling showers on Friday. Hotter temps from Sunday to next week.

Thursday looks dry and dusty as Saharan Dust remains over the area. But a break in this long plume over Dominican Republic, could allow moisture from a wave to bring us a few showers by Friday.

A Heat Advisory remains in place until 6 pm for Metropolitan SE Florida. We could still see readings in the triple digits until then.

When there's too much humidity in the atmosphere, it makes the temperatures feel hotter, this is known as the Heat Index, or "Feels-Like" temps. These are the hottest readings Wednesday afternoon.

Colorado State University, one of the leading hurricane seasonal forecasters, has amended their outlook...Dropping their projections once again. All due to a hostile Atlantic from the Impacts of an El Niño year.

Average high this time of year is 90°. We'll run anywhere between 2 to 5 degrees over that. Factor in the humidity, and these temps will feel like the triple digits.

The last 24 hours have been soggy in spots across South Florida. Still a chance for storms on Tuesday but then Saharan Dust arrives and not only do we dry out, but heat up even further.

After a day of afternoon heavy rain in spots... it has dried out nicely. Beautiful sunset skies across the area. More storms to return tomorrow, but drier after that.

Downtown Miami disappeared from our TowerCam, as a intense downpours move over the area. Some spots are getting large amounts of rain. Monitoring for possible street flooding.

Friday afternoon witnessed some heavy rainfall across the area. These are the 24 hour rain totals for South Florida.

This Saturday & Sunday are shaping up to be a typical summer/rainy season type weekend. Expect plenty of sun, heat, humidity and afternoon downpours. A few could be strong. Enjoy and stay safe.

Heavy rain continues over the Western Suburbs of Miami-Dade & Broward as of 6 pm Friday. Around 2.5" of rain have accumulated in Sunrise this afternoon. The downpours are mostly stationary.

The downpours remain an issue over the Western Suburbs of Broward County as of 5:40 pm. Lightning is a big threat and will remain over the next 30 minutes or so. Heavy rain over and near the Weston area may lead to standing water on roadways. Please drive with caution.

A line of storms impacting interior portions of Miami-Dade has the potential for gusty winds to 50 mph. It's not moving and impacting portions of US41. Motorists should drive with care anywhere inside the area boxed in yellow. The threat will stay in place thru 5:15 pm

NWS issues a Special Weather Statement for possible gusts to 50 mph, inside boxed area until 5:15 pm. The storm is nearly stationary. It's located roughly 11 miles west of Pembroke Pines. Motorists along US27, I-75, and parts of I-595 should drive with caution.

We are watching a batch of heavy rain roughly 12 miles away from Miami Stadium. It's basically drifting, at times eastward and at others southward. It does have some gusty winds and lightning. It may last another 45 minutes before it starts to dissipate.

A Big Downpour across the Lower Keys Gulf Side. Its drifting. At times heading south, but mostly leaning west. It does have some lightning. May stay over the area for another 20 minutes.

Energy leftover from previous storms is heading for a collision. The clash could lead to more downpours. With light winds across the area, they could drift in any direction. We'll keep monitoring.

Temps at 3 pm Friday- in the 80s & low 90s, but with lots of humidity around, it makes those temps feel warmer. This is known as the Heat Index, or "Feels-Like" temps. Naples where the humidity is 93%, the Heat Index is over 100°. A breeze is keeping Miami 's H.I. not as hot.

Typical rain chances in early July hover between 50 & 60%. They'll climb a bit Sunday and Monday and then drop by midweek. Some Saharan Dust is forecast to near the region by then helping to dry out the environment.

Saturday will see rain chances on the upper end of what's typical. Above average probabilities on Sunday. The Rainy season pattern will persist thru the weekend.

Big game at Miami stadium this Friday evening. There's a small chance for showers at the start, much drier by the second half. Temps will remain in the low to mid 80s.

While South Florida will remain with above average temps on Friday... it'll be nothing compared to highs across much of the Midwest, East Coast, & Northeast.

Thursday saw sizzling temps across much of the Eastern Seaboard. D.C., Boston, & Hartford all set New Records. More is forecast for Friday.

Penny size hail was reported just east of MIA at 2 pm as a strong storm made its way thru the area. At one time, a Severe Storm warning was in place by the airport. It has long been canceled.

Sizzling South Florida, with forecast highs to remain above the norm over the next 7 days. Feels-Like temps will hover in the triple digits much of next week as well.

Friday to Sunday will see some Fireworks from Mother Nature as rain chances hover in the typical range. We can expect our afternoon storms to develop along the coast and travel inland. After that, probabilities come down, and even some Saharan dust returns by the week's end.

Due to lack of rain, drought conditions have worsened over rural Broward & Miami Dade, mostly over the Everglades Extreme drought conditions have filtered farther East there. Drier conditions from Moderate to Severe status have also drifted toward the Coast.

Rainy season rain chances range between 50 to 60%. Over the next 3 days we'll be in the norm. The rain is forecast to start around the early afternoon hours all three days and move inland. Have a happy 4t of July and stay safe.

Sudden downpours across parts of Metropolitan areas of SE Florida. Better chances on Thursday.

The highest rain chances we've seen in a while will be present on Thursday. Probabilities will reach 70% tomorrow and then slowly abate thru Saturday.

It was a dry month across Mainland SE Florida. Miami experienced its 5th driest June while Ft. Lauderdale came in as the 2nd driest. More rain is now starting to show up across the area.

Outside of some days in the 80s, much of June ran above average with highs in the low to mid 90s.
