Because of ArtFight's recent rule clarification, I've seen discussion on whether tracing your own photos is the same as references them. This is, in my opinion, a matter of semantics. Tracing your own photos IS a method of using them as reference. It is perfectly normal and doesn't hurt anyone. #Art

I think what people don't really get is that references are informations, knowledge. You need them to learn more about a subject. It's like an encyclopedia, you can't retain everything but you can just check a page, learn from it and remember some info. It's the same for drawing.
