Lots of #Guttation on these 2 #Fungi The first is the fruiting body of a plant pathogen Chondrostereum purpureum, the cause of Silver Leaf disease. The second is another plant pathogen, likely a Red Belted Polypore seen from 3 angles with fresh growth & apparently way too much water. #FungiFriends

I spotted at least 2 #SlimeMold species on this standing Red Alder. The black stalked, represented by specimens of varying maturity as evidenced by their color ranging from white to pink to brown & the less prolific orange species, sans stalks, seen growing predominantly on #Moss #FungiFriends

A few #TinyCreature sightings today. A springtail with an interesting pattern straddling this tiny Mycena growing on a half rotted Red Alder, Alnus rubra. I believe that the other is an Intertidal Red Velvet mite, Neomolgus littoralis, found on a Western Red Cedar, Thuja plicata. #FungiFriends

A couple of #microscope shots of the #spores found inside what I'm now fairly confident are #Fungi from the genus Elaphomyces, all species apparently referred to as #DeerTruffles. Not uncommon, but NOT known to be found growing in trees 1m above the ground. Spores measured ~ 27-28 µm #FungiFriends

I believe these are Rosy Slime Spikes, Gomphidius subroseus. I'd wager a Pacific Banana Slug was recently visiting with the small middle fungi having a slug like bite taken out of it, who apparently quickly departed leaving a slimy trail. A video plucking the small one can be found👇 #FungiFriends

What a difference 5 days can make. Revisited the #Rosecomb mutation fungi again today after last seeing it Sunday, when this quoted picture was taken. A freshly emerged fruiting body just above the main group has #guttation that's notable, especially relative to their size. #FungiFriends

I believe these are Scarlet Waxcap, Hygrocybe coccinea, or interestingly, the Righteous Red Waxy Cap. Far out man... At least 2 bonus fungi species are hiding here. A Zeller's Bolete, Xerocomellus zelleri with its shiny dark brown cap and some white Fairy Fingers, Clavaria fragilis. #FungiFriends
