There was a lot of Orioles around, and some new warblers, but not as many as there should be. A lot of birds seem to be missing. Female Baltimore Oriole, Rock River this week:

House Wrens are very vocal. I have a male out back who has been calling out for a mate all week. He had a birdhouse taken from him by Bluebirds so I made him another and he likes it. These guys are so small they are hard to spot without hearing them.

Female Bald Eagle from yesterday at the nest site. I don't see the male around the nest much, I saw him drop off a fish one time, otherwise it's the female doing it all. Looks like she tangled with a large fish & got wet. No wonder she sleeps a lot, she does it all with 3 large chicks in the nest.

I finally spotted him! I thought he was a goner but he is still around or there is more than one mutated squirrels. He/she lives right near a hawk nest and where hawks & fox hang out.

Its easy to steal photos off the web. There's even a site that lets people post stolen images or harvest images for social media. That doesn't make it right. If one does post an image that belongs to someone else, they should be including a link. That is sharing. Posting without a link is stealing.

I just missed getting a repeat of yesterdays Eagle dive but I was just one minute off in timing. I saw it happen though and did a get nest shot. That was the female catching fish. This time I saw her take the fish to the nest when the male showed up. I also saw a RT hawk. #hawk #birds #nature

Male Wood Ducks hang around nest areas to draw attention away from the nest. When the chicks hatch & jump out of the trees, the males will group up & I won't be seeing them, but instead I'll see females with chicks swimming around eating bugs & hiding in logjams. Rock River Photos: #birds #nature

Bald Eagles from yesterday were both at the nest, the male dropped off breakfast. I don't hang around, I just drift by, I can't sit and wait hours for the male to bring food and I may not want to see what he brings anyway. BTW New website coming! #birds #nature
