Elektrownia Powiśle was once an important power plant in Warsaw. Today, it's a vibrant mall with an amazing food hall. The interior is decorated with authentic components and art made from salvaged material. During WWII, resistance fighters were active in the area, building an improvised tank.

The University of Warsaw Library boasts a striking façade, adorned with inscriptions including Old Polish, Hebrew and classical Greek. The library has its own garden which is open to the public. In the warmer months, you can climb to the library roof garden for a remarkable view over the city.

The Royal Route in Warsaw is currently home to an interesting looking shop with Russian signage and old-style goods in the windows. The shop isn't real. It's part of a movie set for the adaptation of Polish classic Lalka (Doll), set in 19th century Russian-ruled Poland. #History #Film #Poland

Heavy snowfall in Poland as we head into 2026!

It's a snowy #NYE in Poland! In the villages around Warsaw, families were sledging or building snowmen. Others did some last minute shopping or preparations for parties this evening. Even in the afternoon, fireworks boomed in the background. We wish everyone a safe night and happy 2026!

A winter hike in the Wawer district of Warsaw! Frosty and quiet, but there's so much to see; dark and narrow forest alleys lead to sandy, sloping clearings. Next to the bus terminal, a religious monument stands beside a wooden bench beautifully carved with the image of wolves. #Poland #Nature

This typical residential area in the small town of Sulejówek lies close to several military facilities. It was home to many family members of army personnel and it still features a dried out fountain placed there by the Polish army. Today, the brightly coloured blocks are renovated family homes.
