Just now, I spoke on behalf of the Benelux at the UN Security Council to make crystal clear that violations of European airspace by Russia are unacceptable. We stand in solidarity with Estonia, Poland, Romania, and our partners in upholding sovereignty and international law. 1/2

The rules-based international order is increasingly under threat. This has far-reaching consequences for all of us. Now is the time to protect, strengthen, and to reform the multilateral system. I will emphasise this at the 80th #UN General Assembly in New York. 1/2

The United Kingdom and NL are close partners in numerous areas from trade to security 🇬🇧🤝🇳🇱 With Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper I discussed our close cooperation in supporting Ukraine. We voiced our concerns about the catastrophic situation in Gaza and deteriorating situation in the West Bank.

The Netherlands stands with Ukraine providing political, military, financial and humanitarian support. I underlined this in my first exchange with 🇺🇦 Deputy PM, Taras Kachka. We also discussed Ukraine’s EU future, necessary reforms and NL support during the accession process.

De NAVO laat de roekeloze schending van het Poolse luchtruim door Russische drones niet onbeantwoord. Met Eastern Sentry versterken we de verdediging van ons luchtruim aan de oostflank. We zijn waakzaam en vastberaden om iedere centimeter van het NAVO-grondgebied te verdedigen.

As #NATO, we do not leave the reckless violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones unanswered. With Eastern Sentry, we are strengthening our air defense on the eastern flank. The Netherlands and its Allies are vigilant and resolved to defend every inch of NATO territory.

The release of 52 political prisoners in Belarus is welcome news, above all for their loved ones. At the same time, this must not lead to new arrests. Many lawyers, human rights defenders, journalists, and media workers remain in jail. We call for their immediate release.

The situation in the Middle East remains volatile. The Netherlands values Saudi Arabia’s role and our close cooperation for stability and security. FM HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud and I discussed regional developments, the crisis in Gaza, our humanitarian efforts, and Ukraine.

Expressed my full solidarity with Foreign Minister @radek-sikorski.bsky.social and Poland in the aftermath of Russia's provocations. I am glad Dutch F-35 pilots were able to contribute to the security of the Polish-NATO airspace. We stand shoulder to shoulder to counter the Russian threat.

Russian drone violations of NATO airspace are unacceptable and a threat to Europe’s security. The Netherlands stands firmly with Poland. NATO must remain ready, and tougher sanctions must put greater pressure on Russia’s war economy.

Jordan and the Netherlands cooperate closely for peace and security. I commended FM Ayman Safadi for Jordan's invaluable humanitarian efforts for Gaza, including the coordination of airdrops. I stressed that we stand ready to contribute to their efforts for medical evacuees.

Had a good first phone call with Palestinian Authority FM Aghabekian. We discussed the immense human suffering in Gaza. Above all, an immediate ceasefire is needed. We also touched upon West Bank escalations. The Netherlands is working on pressuring Israel to change course. 1/2

Egypt is our valued partner, and a driver for peace and stability in the region. Had a good first call with FM Abdelatty about the dire situation in Gaza, Egypt's vital efforts for a ceasefire, and how we can contribute to its medical support efforts.

Useful first exchange with Kaja Kallas. Strong EU action for Gaza and Ukraine is crucial. We discussed the need for EU measures to step up pressure on Israel, additional sanctions against Hamas, more support to Ukraine, and swift adoption of a 19th Russia sanctions package.

Had my first exchange with the Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and recalled the historical ties between our countries. I expressed condolences after the deadly attack in Jerusalem, with my thoughts for the victims and their families. 1/2

With its largest attack to date, Russia escalates its illegal war against Ukraine. Civilians were targeted across the country. For the first time, government buildings in Kyiv were hit. We need more pressure and biting sanctions against Russia, and robust support to Ukraine.
