Historical ties and close partnership today. The Netherlands and Indonesia already work closely together in many areas. During a call with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, we agreed to further strengthen our partnership in a world where cooperation is crucial.

Had a good first exchange with my colleague Badr Abdelatty. The Netherlands values its close cooperation with Egypt on many issues, also via the EU. We discussed the latest developments in the region. I expressed my gratitude for Egypt’s support in repatriating Dutch nationals.

De toekomst van Europa vraagt duidelijke keuzes. Vandaag nog in Brussel voor de Raad Algemene Zaken. Met EU-collega’s spreken we over de volgende EU-begroting, Europese concurrentiekracht, steun aan Oekraïne en EU-uitbreiding.

Als EU moeten we druk houden op Iran. Goed dat er vandaag cyber- en mensenrechtensancties zijn aangenomen, mede dankzij Nederlandse inzet. Ik heb gepleit voor nieuwe sanctiebevoegdheden op het gebied van vrije doorvaart, een instrument om maritieme blokkades tegen te gaan. 1/2

Had a good introductory call with my Moroccan colleague Nasser Bourita. The Netherlands and Morocco share longstanding historical ties and cooperate strategically on many issues. We reaffirmed our partnership and exchanged insights about the situation in the Middle East.

Een waardevolle, hernieuwde kennismaking met premier Mike Eman van Aruba. Samenwerking binnen het Koninkrijk is belangrijk. We spraken onder andere over de ontwikkelingen in de regio. Ik feliciteerde Aruba ook met 40 jaar Status Aparte - een bijzondere mijlpaal.

Good exchange with Norwegian FM Espen Barth Eide on our continued support for Ukraine, the developments in the Middle East and our close cooperation in the European Economic Area. Norway’s leadership on Ukraine and the High North matters. We continue to coordinate closely.

On International Women’s Day we recognise the essential role of women and girls in our societies. Their leadership strengthens communities, economies and peace. Promoting women’s rights and gender equality remains a core priority of Dutch foreign policy. #IWD 1/2

Spoke with FM Jeyhun Bayramov to express my solidarity after the recent drone attack on Azerbaijan’s Nakhichevan airport, which NL condemns, and discuss the need for restraint and de-escalation. Azerbaijan’s role in preventing further escalation remains important. 1/2

Good to speak with Hakan Fidan. We underlined the strong relations between the Netherlands and Türkiye. I also expressed my solidarity with Türkiye as our NATO ally after a ballistic missile was fired from Iran towards Turkish airspace. 1/2

Glad to speak with my colleague FM Badr Albusaidi and to thank Oman for facilitating tonight’s first KLM flight with stranded Dutch citizens. We jointly condemned Iran’s widespread attacks across the Gulf. The Netherlands stands with Oman and values its ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Discussed the tense regional situation and the threat of the Iranian regime with FM Gideon Sa’ar as well as the risk of escalation. I condemned the indiscriminate Iranian attacks. I also called for de-escalation in Lebanon and stressed the need for unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza.

In my first call with FM Rajji I underlined the strong ties between Lebanon and the Netherlands and our continued support for Lebanon’s stability. We will keep supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces, incl on border management & demining. Avoiding further regional escalation is vital.

Important to touch base with my Palestinian colleague Minister Varsen Aghabekian. I stressed that the Netherlands is a partner to the Palestinians, and we remain focused on the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, also amid the conflict with Iran. NL is committed to the two-state solution.

During my call with #Iraqi FM Fuad Hussein, we discussed Iranian attacks on Iraqi soil and the broader impact of this conflict. We jointly underlined the importance of de-escalation. Stability and security in the region is our shared priority.

Stability in the Middle East matters to us all. Iran’s attacks and airspace violations over #Jordan are unacceptable and risk wider escalation. I shared our support with FM Ayman Safadi and discussed how we can work together and coordinate our efforts.

The attacks on #Bahrain are deeply concerning and unacceptable. In my conversation with FM Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, I conveyed our solidarity and stressed the importance of preventing further escalation and safeguarding stability in the region.

Iran’s attacks on targets in #Kuwait are unacceptable and must stop. I expressed our solidarity during my call with FM Sheikh Al-Sabah and underlined our deep concern about wider regional escalation and the impact on Kuwait’s security and stability.
