Not related to what I'm working on atm, but I also got hop on some of those gpu-based liquid sim tools I've seen floating around too...

Experimenting w/ getting particles out of embergen along with the usual voxel smoke atm. Works alright (w/ a few extra wrinkles), though hard to figure out the right settings for heavier ones... Might stick to using it for smaller stuff and that busted fire hydrant fx I want to try.

“Oooh look what I found on the ground… hehe… let’s play, runt” Is no secret that Rufty has a major thing for big, meaty hands, and knowing that, Polo is not going to waste any chance to make the little guy ‘pop’… Also the bunny is a great toy to fidget with! Win-win!

When it comes to OCs I'm far more interested in telling stories with them over inhabiting them. I'm not completely *uninterested* in the latter, but it's never really been high enough that it felt worth making one specifically for that.

For all it's faults n' buggy-ness, I'd still recommend SFM for first-timers. It's a low-stakes playground where you have everything you need to get started. Just make sure to learn how to use the Graph Editor, so you don't have to relearn how to animate once you're ready to switch programs.

I got my start w/ animating in SFM, but I actually started my journey in 3d with the HL2 source SDK and the Hammer Editor.

Finished a successful test composite for this shot. Don't think there's any way to separate the viewport render out into passes? (outside of rendering it all separately), so can't multiply the diffuse pass correctly for previewing, but this won't be a problem for the full render so all good.

Played some of AoE2 before, but not Age of Mythology so maybe I should give it a go... Never been all that good at RTS stuff tbh (though did enjoy the OG dawn of war).
