#NP The Style Council | Café Bleu (expanded) Finally got my hands on the three disc vinyl edition of the expanded edition of Café Bleu, which is superbly curated. The first and third disc, full of singles and b-sides, really shine. That six CD edition is now calling....... 😂

#NP Stalk-Forest Group | St. Cecilia: The Elektra Recordings Another great RSD26 release, though perhaps for the committed, positioned as it was between Soft White Underbelly and Blue Öyster Cult. Still, great psych tinged rock from 1970, and the original versions sound superb 😎

#NP The Tears | Here Come The Tears Lovely RSD26 vinyl reissue of The Tears 2005 album. It never quite clicked with me at the time, but it's definitely grown on me over the years. There are some really fine songs and performances on it. Delighted to have a vinyl copy after so many years 😎

#NP UFO I The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent. I left the 2026 remaster behind me today in the local record emporium, but after a visit to the local drinking emporium the album is just what I need. Not their greatest album, but their best imo. The remaster can wait another week 😂

Lemoncello | Perfect Place Much as I love Lemoncello's 2024 debut album, I think Laura Quirke and Claire Kinsella have surpassed it on the recently released Perfect Place. A wonderfully cohesive collection of gentle and understated alt folk gems, and simply a beautiful listen.

#NP Tori Amos | In Times Of Dragons Finally getting around to listening to Tori's expansive double album. To paraphrase 'Song of Sorrow' it invites you in, and like her best work invites you in again. Really looking forward to spending more time with this release.

#NP James Dean Bradfield | The Great Western 20th anniversary edition of JD's (can we call him JD?) solo debut rereleased for RSD26. Honestly I had forgotten just how vibrant a release this was. The man's a musical genius: 'Europe gave was to the States' - you tell them JD 🎯 👍 🎶

#NP Nicky Wire | Intimism Hard to believe that I'm finally only getting around to my RSD26 albums after nearly three weeks. Still the Wire's sophomore solo's first outing on vinyl is an absolutely cracker and a perfect place to start. A firm favourite since release, so great to have a copy on wax 😎

#NP How I Became A Wave | S/T Been playing local Cork legend Pat Carey's How I Became A Wave all week. Gorgeous, gentle and quite sublime mix of alt folk and country, accompanied by wonderfully understated strings. Bonus: he's playing a freebie in the local record emporium tomorrow for RSD 😎

#NP Talking Heads | Tentative Decisions: Demos & Live Half a century old, but this lovely compilation of tracks from the very early part of the band's career sounds so fresh and vibrant. And of course I was always a sucker for the inclusion of a bonus seven inch with an album.....😎

#NP Rosalia I Lux It felt somewhat appropriate to take the dive into Lux over Easter. First listen and it's musically adventurous and totally captivating, it literally holds you, lifts you up, and doesn't let you go. Looking forward to a deeper lyrical dive. Superb.

#NP Massive Attack | Mezzanine First time ever hearing Mezzanine on vinyl and it's stunning. I've had it on CD since it was released, but the vinyl really hits. The album hasn't dated at all, timeless 😊

Sunday and some terrific indie tunes in the local. A superb West Kerry cask ale feels like redemption after the penultimate Good Friday (and not so great Saturday). There's a lot to be said for resurrection 😂

#NP The Durutti Column | The Return Of The Durutti Column Speculative purchase yesterday and I honestly hadn't an idea of what to expect as I totally missed the original 1980 release. Amazing to think it was a Factory release. It's a joy to listen to, perfect for a long bright spring evening 👌 🎶 👍

#NP Rún | Rún Initially presenting as a somewhat dark and challenging, Rún's magic lies in fully engaging the listener as they seamlessly weave many disparate elements together into an incredibly rewarding whole. It's a dark magic for sure, just a different way of illuminating.

#NP David Byrne | Who Is The Sky? I'm enjoying my first few listens to David Byrne's latest, which is a lovely direct and immediate listen, quirky in places and full of his trademark melodies. Plus it's pressed on suitably garish green vinyl for the National day tomorrow 👌 🎶 ☘️ 😊

#NP Tori Amos | Strange Little Girls First time on vinyl for Tori's 2001 cover versions album. I was a little dubious at the time, but really got into Tori's reinterpretations, mainly off the back of her live performances. This edition is generously expanded to sixteen tracks 👌 🎶 👍

#NP Morrissey | Make-Up Is A Lie I really didn't have too high hopes for Morrissey's latest, but two spins in and I'm hooked. Not saying it's up there with his best, but it's melodic, witty, melodramatic and very Morrissey. Plenty more spins ahead for this one 😊
