Declining an award because we think someone else deserves it is different from transferring the award after accepting it. The former demonstrates candor, humility, and respect. The latter demonstrates deceit and disrespect.

Today, a friend demoed a web-based product that he and his dev built in two months. They used
#ClaudeCode

#GitHub

#Render

ICLR started with the open peer review process: (IIRC) reviews were open but reviewer names were hidden. So, the commotion about the leaking of author and reviewer info for ICLR is funny. I think a fully open/transparent review process would be simpler, more effective, and probably more efficient.

Days like today remind me of the Internet from the 2000s when companies hosted their own servers and such wide-scale outages were rare. That said, the frequency of DDoS attacks and the dependence on the Internet were both relatively low back then as well.
